I have celiac and a dairy allergy -- perfect for Italy, I know. I told them about my allergies and the chef came out and discussed menu options and ingredients, which was very kind. They offer a gluten-free pasta, but it has milk in it....More

This is a bistro in the back of town next to a road with no view. The food is very average and they are charging top dollar - €11-15 for pasta, which is as expensive as the most expensive restaurant in town. My spaghetti bolognese...More

Everybody tells you this but a day trip to vernazza proved it to be true.....walk one street back....away from tourist central and enjoy amazing local fresh seafood and salad....for an excellent price! Not to mention lovely local wine by the litre....cheap and approachable! You're welcome!

Great coffee, croissants, and juice...walk up, away from the train station. More expensive than other cafes.

My girlfriend and I both enjoyed our meals there. The service was a little slow and the tables were cramped and difficult to move around.

I love it when a modest place puts in a real effort. Punches above its weight. That's exactly il pirata which holds itself out as a mere cafe but is so much better than that. Everything we had had been visited by care in its...More

We were underwelmed with the quality of the food in Vernazza as a whole. But Il Pirata was the best! Good dinner (although not spectacular) and a very nice dessert! No view but eat here anyway!

We ordered a simple mushroom risotto and Zappa legume. Both were very good. The setting was quiet away from the tourist harbour side. It is just 5 minutes on the right side of the station if one is going towards levanto.

We tried different pastries every day (since most are not repeated every day) and they were all wonderful. The staff were friendly and helpful. They also have a large cappuccino that my husband loved. Definitely a great option for breakfast.

This is the BEST place we ate at while in the Cinque Terre. We had breakfast here every morning! They have fresh pastries starting at 7am that are out of this world. We also ate dinner here once and it was equally amazing!! If you...More

As you get off the train and go down the stairs, there is a street to the right . The cafe is still on the top of the hill. If you go straight down the hill on the main street of Vernazza, you'll miss it.
