We were only in Genoa for four nights but came back here twice as it was so good! The setting is lovely, with old archways and ambiance in the lighting. It is different to anywhere else we ate in Italy. The service was excellent; the waiters were very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. However, the real star of the show here... More

Very nice restaurant in the heart of old Genova in a hidden lane nearby San Lorenzo Cathedral and Piazza De Ferrari. Located in the cellars of an ancient palace it's a family restaurant with delicious dishes of the local cuisine rivisited with taste and originality. Tagliolini with lobster, stock fish , and black troffie are some of the beat courses.... More

Beautiful, secluded restaurant with fine wines and the best home made pasta in Italy. Go find this little gem of a restaurant with friendly waiters and excellent service.

After a lot of research and a reservation Squarciafico lived up to all our families expectations apart from one. The bill was so reasonable we could not believe the value, it was packed with locals. Always a good sign. The lobster linguine was large claw and half body with great pasta only 16 euro's. A welcome surprise after Portofino! Try... More

Our meal was amazing! We had the muscles in sauce and homemade pasta in a shrimp and saffron sauce. We only ordered that pasta because the lobster one was sold out. But I am glad it was sold out because it was an exceptional pasta! Very traditional. The pasta was al dente! Highly recommend!

The restaurant is not easy to find if you do not know we're it is located. It is in the basement in a small alley in the old town. When entering a new world meets you. The interior is furnished in a cozy way. They have a good selection of the standard Italian food. They prepare everyone from start and... More

After touring the center of Genoa, our guide suggested that we stop for lunch at Le Cantine Squarciafico. Because guide recommendations in other cities resulted in our eating in very touristy restaurants, I didn't get my hopes up about this one. Boy, was I in for a surprise! Our lunch was among the best food experiences we had during our... More

A very nice place to eat in the old historic part of the city, next to the Duomo. The food is excellent quality and not too pricey. After a glass of Prosecco came a generous amuse bouche, which was a nicely prepared oven baked oyster, topped with garlic breadcrumbs. Our starter was a nice monkfish dish, topped with an almond... I would dare say Squarciafico is my favourite restaurant in Genoa! I have been for the first time back in May, when they celebrated their 20th anniversary of their first opening, and again last Saturday for a birthday celebration. In both occasion the food was amazing, they offer typical dishes of the genoese cuisine, but in a very sophisticated way.... More
