We stumbled across this restaurant by seeing a number of people outside having drinks. The tables were full but we were ushered upstairs to the main part of the restaurant to find a warm reception. The food was simply outstanding and wines to complement the...More

Having wandererd for an hour or so with restaurants in short supply we stumbled accross Il Balcone. Quite quiet but we later discovered we were early for dinner as the genovese tend to eat late. Nice typical Italian (maybe Genovese) dishes and a reasonable price.

Good food, friendly service by the only waiter in charge. No salt, pepper and oil on the table but really interesting choice of local food. Worth a visit if you are looking for an informal venue. Beware of the lack of lift: located at the first floor.

We stumbled upon this place and loved it. Great atmosphere, intimate setting. The pasta dishes and dessert were the best we had in Genoa, but the meat dishes (one of us had the rabbit and the other the Cima) were a bit overdone for us.

This restaurant was recommended by a friend from Genoa. It was a casual, friendly inexpensive place to enjoy some of traditional Genoese dishes. I liked starters more than the main (as always) and loved the pesto. My husband and I were full with a starter...More

The restaurant is near Palazzo Ducale in the heart of the historic center of Genoa. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming and original, thanks to a wallpaper made using an encyclopedia of the early '900. Our proposal is based on love for Ligurian cuisine, clever mix between the poor raw materials and the hard work of housewives who have given birth. We try to give voice to the ancient Ligurian recipes. Sometimes we allow ourselves to fascinate from contamination of other regional cuisines. Sometimes from fantasy. We cannot forget our former love: Chianina beef, ancient cattle breed of the Chiana Valley in Tuscany, from which comes the idea of Fiorentina. We provide the best I.G.P. Chianina beef with controlled supply chain to offer you true Fiorentina T-Bone. Our wine list offers approximatively 50 wine labels representing the most important national productions, selected on the basis of the best price/quality ratio.
