Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was my first time eating Polenta meal - i wanted to try a local cuisine dish. I was very pleasantly surprised how tasty and filling this was! You have to pick your 'base' choice: 1. gialla (i think this is just plain polenta) 2....With added cheese And then choose your toppings. I chose the combination of three toppings to get a taste of everything (salami, melted cheese and pulled deer meat). You can choose several meat based options but the lady said it would be extra charge If all you're looking for is a happy and full belly and for a bargain price, look no further.More

Tables outside opposite to top of funicular from the city below. Polenta served with a variety of toppings. Quick and tasty for a reasonable price.

Super tasty polenta with veggies, just what I needed for a nice nourishing meal. Only one woman working the whole shop bless her, and as it was quite busy it took a little while to get food, however she made each portion after each order...so once you were served it came super fresh and hot within a couple of minutes. Highly recommend visiting, and if I ever return to Bergamo I will definitely come again.More

Super! And great idea to keep it informal and take away is available. The view is not excellent but location is top at the start of the center. Nice service too!

So you are searching for local food in Bergamo and you read that polenta taragna is a classic one. Then you think like a fool that you should go to a restaurant and get some but after a little search you come up to this...place. First impression is “wait what” “seriously”?? But after sitting and tasting the polenta here you understand why it’s reputation proceeds it. This is by far the best polenta in Bergamo. And the simplicity of the place makes it even better. So yes…seriously…don’t even think twice before you visit this place…trust me.More

Right at the start of the Old town, there´s this little food-stand selling one of the regional dishes: polenta. It looks like a typical food stand in every tourist area in the world, where there´s a stand who sells regional food and where you know it...might be ok at it´s best. The fact that the place had a lot of excellent reviews and that we could only here Italians around us , we decided to give it a try. Except for that this place is actually pretty good. The concept is simple. One dish, different toppings. I had the cheese polenta with minced wild boar meat and my wife had the one with mushrooms. We really were surprised by the quality. The polenta is made fresh on the spot and tasted excellent. We could definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to try this dish. Don´t except fine dining, it´s a fast food tent with four tables outside. The only downside is that everything is served with plastic plates and cutlery....More

We visited on the way back from the Citta Alta. The place is a small caravan few tables in front of it, however the food was decent and the lady was very friendly. Although not the best polenta in town, it was tasty and fresh...and served really fast. For fast food, it was indeed really good.More

Very tasty, recommended if you want a bit of a change from tourist food. Not exactly cheap considering it is a quick eat, but well worth the money

The staff is very kind and helpful. I had a polenta taragna with salume bergamasca. It was delicious, yet I fell that for the quantity served, and apparent effort needed to prepare it, 6,50€ is a bit expensive for it.

The veggie option with cheese polenta was amazing! The owner is so sweet and helpful. We were freezing and she turned on warming lights on above our outdoor seating. The area is soooo charming and very very central! Affordable too.

We're big fans of polenta and were keen to try the local version, tarragna, which includes buckwheat with the maize and also has cheese and butter in it. We both had the wild boar sauce and were impressed by quality, quantity and value. We managed...to get one of the few tables, but I imagine that might be more difficult at a weekend or at the peak of the holiday season. It's a good filling cheap quick lunch and has none of the tacky qualities that one associates with fast food.More
