Typical steak house with a decent service and offer but noise level is unbearable (echoing on plain walls and high ceiling). Our dinner party quickly turned into a nightmare and we all felt like eating in a railway station.

I wanted to have a taste of Argentina, so what better place? But my experience was mixed. The venue is elegant and really reminding Baires. After 20 on a Friday night it becomes quite crowded and noisy; mainly groups of friends or families; I would not advise it for couples. The place may be a victim of its own success.... More

I reserved a table for 2 with two days in advance: I initially asked for a table at 21:00, but they told me to arrive a little bit later, at 22:00. On the day of the reservation they called us back to confirm the reservation. When later we arrived at the restaurant it was pretty busy (it was a Saturday)... More

If the service was not so poor, this restaurant would have been amazing. The quality of the meat, the taste of everything we had, salads, appetizers, of course the meat and condiments, all was truly exceptional. Unfortunately the service was very poor. It took forever to bring the main dish, after the first was removed, and then again forever to... More

Very appreciated and busy, large portions of beef and an interesting selection of wine. Nice, attentive staff. We were surprised by the quality of meat. We expected Argentinian grass fed, but it didn't seem to be the case. It was certainly prepared Argentinian style. Great for lovers of large quantities of meat, but we were expecting something and got something... More

The place is so cool and the personnel are very educated and professional. I did not like the food (the meat) at all and I felt awful during the night. I have tried many Argentine restaurant but I have never felt bad like this time. The price is high for what you eat.

Sometimes you just want to sink your eyeteeth into a real steak. In the middle of so much refined haute cuisine and hearty regional recipes, it can be surprisingly difficult to find a proper one in Europe - but stop worrying, El Porteno will cater to your carnivore cravings. So what if the side dishes are cute but meh -... More

Staying in Navigli

Neighbourhood Profile
Navigli
The Navigli is part of historic Milan. In the ancient days, the entire city was linked with canals, similar to Venice. Today, most of the canals are gone, but the Navigli remains a canal-based neighborhood. There are two major canals: Naviglio Pavese and Naviglio Grande. The Naviglio Grande's bridges greet visitors at dusk with an amazing view. The Navigli district specializes in clubs, cafes, and vintage shops. Lifestyle reigns supreme here. You can start the walk from the Colonne di San Lorenzo, an antique colonnade in front of the Basilica di San Lorenzo. During the daytime, this place acts as a meeting point for artists and students reading books or chatting with friends; the nights turn it into a stepping-stone for club hoppers. Science lovers will also relish the opportunity to visit the Science and Technology National Museum Leonardo Da Vinci, showcasing inventions of the Italian genius.
