Sometimes you just want to sink your eyeteeth into a real steak. In the middle of so much refined haute cuisine and hearty regional recipes, it can be surprisingly difficult to find a proper one in Europe - but stop worrying, El Porteno will cater to your carnivore cravings. So what if the side dishes are cute but meh -... More

Highly rated by trip advisor so went to this restaurant to see why my foodie friends liked it so much. We were were disappointed as the food was under par ambiance was however good. We ordered chicken empanadas for starters which came cold we returned it and the second time it came cold again. We asked the waiter for the... More

Came here several times, just for dinner. Never a bad surprise but always "keep-up for the highest standard". The location is a little bit "dark" but that's cool nowadays. The waiting-for starter is always well accepted and definitely very good (this time the truffled pate was superb), the meat portion are really good and if you're a meat lover in... More

I was here for a family dinner. The meat is simply great! They have a good variety that fits every kind of needs and tastes. The aesthetics of the plates is good and adds a plus to the location itself, which is anyway very cozy but at the same time elegant and classy. Wine choice is quite wide and goes... More

Business associates recommended this place and I'm so glad we took their advice. Generously portioned starters, perfectly cooked steak and a very good range of wines. There was a lively atmosphere in a Wednesday night. It's popular with small groups of friends and would be a great date night venue too. I will gladly go back next time I'm in... More

This is a busy place with a stylish youngish fashionable crowd. Argentinean beef dominates the menu and my fillet was simply fantastic. Served with small purees, it really melted in the mouth - a complete treat for carnivores! We were four and we all had different cuts - and truly delicious it was too. Puddings seem to include dulche de... More

One of the top Argentinean restaurant in Milan. I absolutely love their interior, sadly they did not allow me to take pictures. Big portion, good steak (as you would expect from a fine dining restaurant), but what surprised me were their side dishes. 4 different types (mashed potato, sweet potato puree, french fries and pumpkin puree) all were so so... A really, really enjoyable evening. Nice atmosphere, wonderful service, extensive wine list and last but not least delicious meat served with style. Best piece of meat that I've had in a very long time. Steaks are accompanied with different styles of potatoes(extras can be ordered). Desserts are equally good. Highly recommendable- and for sure not our last visit

Staying in Navigli

Neighbourhood Profile
Navigli
The Navigli is part of historic Milan. In the ancient days, the entire city was linked with canals, similar to Venice. Today, most of the canals are gone, but the Navigli remains a canal-based neighborhood. There are two major canals: Naviglio Pavese and Naviglio Grande. The Naviglio Grande's bridges greet visitors at dusk with an amazing view. The Navigli district specializes in clubs, cafes, and vintage shops. Lifestyle reigns supreme here. You can start the walk from the Colonne di San Lorenzo, an antique colonnade in front of the Basilica di San Lorenzo. During the daytime, this place acts as a meeting point for artists and students reading books or chatting with friends; the nights turn it into a stepping-stone for club hoppers. Science lovers will also relish the opportunity to visit the Science and Technology National Museum Leonardo Da Vinci, showcasing inventions of the Italian genius.
