Great spring weather for sitting out having lunch. Unfortunately my first sandwich choice was not available but the alternative was fine which was had with coffee and sparkling water. Near the Castell Sforzesca. Nice staff and good service.

We've been at Van Bol quite few times and we enjoyed the experience so much that it is our first choice for a quick meal downtown Milan. Being also close to Teatro Dal Verme it is the place for a relaxing meal before the show. Last time we enjoyed the "aperitivo" with a selection of finger foods including also risotto... More

The taste and flavor of the gelato is very good. Very well located near the Castelo Sforzesco. The only downsize is the service, very rude just contributing for the Italian stereotype. And to complete the poor service, when I was seating in the tables outside I was kicked out by the waiter because the ice cream was for "take out".... More

I just grabbed a gerate from this shop, the system is that we have to pay by casher and queue in front of gerate show case. Limone was nice

We enjoyed a tasty 'one dish lunch' here after a city tour. Tasty and sufficient it was what we needed. There is a great choice too and tempting pastries. Attentive staff.

We were sat to the rear of this place, nice and near the toilets (if that is a plus) with a great view of a wall. Pity to be in this iconic cafe and not be able to appreciate it. The mocha arrived, basically with a coffee shot, splash of chocolate and filled with whipped (aquirty) cream. Not my favourite... More

Van Bol & Feste is a little pricey over all, however the hot chocolate is very good. Very rich tasting. Cakes and rolls available should you want lunch. The cafe has seating inside and out and the service is good.

Standard coffee, standard water, standard seat, standard road (just in front, please yeld to be understood) Really desappointed by the high notes of TripAdv. Not recommanded.

Even though it is billed as a bakery, we had a great lunch here. Sandwiches are wonderful. It may be hard to see the seating inside but it was great on a cold day in December. Service was friendly and efficient.

Staying in Centro Storico

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro Storico
The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.
