Cucchi is truly a piece of contemporary history of this lively, very central neighbourhood. My family has anecdotes here dating back to the early 1960s, and we still drop every now and then for old-style, quite sophisticated pastries and service. Just consider we bring here international friends for breakfast. Today we tried a plain cappuccino (yes, you can have one... More

We stayed 5 days in Milan, in Navigli area and tried Cucchi a few times. Its a very original, simple and elegant place and their panettone is delicious!

It looked like everyone else in the cafe was receiving attentive service and the coffee was nice. But we were ignored and the waitor got angry and rude at the fact we had rucksacks with us (we were dressed in t shirts and shorts) and essentially refused to serve us

A great place to have some very good italian pastries! We had an orzo, a negrino, some pretty bite-seized sweet pastries and some savoury munchies. The waiters in suits add a certain old fashioned poshness to the atmosphere, all very much in character of having a proper tea-time!

The americano coffee was served the way it should be with a jug of hot water to dilute to taste. The selection of cakes was very good. The service was very professional. The outside tables were nicely protected from the road with a glass screen. Not well located for the town centre so a bit of a trek to get... More

A Sacher Torte, small chocolate pie plus two coffees nearly €20 euros. Both delicious but, I'm sure I could get as good at other patisseries. Building needing a little TLC as do the loos.

This pasticceria's interior was elegant and old-fashioned. The cases full of cakes, tarts, etc were beautiful - such attention to details on the decorations and presentation of all the items. But, it was too fancy for me! I was looking for single servings (pastries, slice of strudel, etc.) and only saw full-sized items. So, I can't speak to the quality... More

Staying in Navigli

Neighbourhood Profile
The Navigli is part of historic Milan. In the ancient days, the entire city was linked with canals, similar to Venice. Today, most of the canals are gone, but the Navigli remains a canal-based neighborhood. There are two major canals: Naviglio Pavese and Naviglio Grande. The Naviglio Grande's bridges greet visitors at dusk with an amazing view. The Navigli district specializes in clubs, cafes, and vintage shops. Lifestyle reigns supreme here. You can start the walk from the Colonne di San Lorenzo, an antique colonnade in front of the Basilica di San Lorenzo. During the daytime, this place acts as a meeting point for artists and students reading books or chatting with friends; the nights turn it into a stepping-stone for club hoppers. Science lovers will also relish the opportunity to visit the Science and Technology National Museum Leonardo Da Vinci, showcasing inventions of the Italian genius.
