Tables are all set for 6-8 people, so if you dislike having to share your table you will not like this restaurant! Lovely food but you may need google translate to help with the menu! Great choice and large portions! Lovely staff and very patient with us! We added a third person at dessert time without warning and they had... More

My girlfriend and I had a dinner in this restaurant in the evening. Firstly our impression was good because of the atmosphere and decoration of this place. Indeed we had expected to have an excellent, premium quality and traditional food but... That was not! Actually, that was industrial way of cooking without taste. The elements in our plates were dry... More

There was nothing particularly wrong with our meal. It just wasnt the best that we've had. The service was nice. It was a bit slow. The cover charge was 2.50 per guest (I haven't seen that in many places in Milan). We ordered the caprese salad to start as well as the catalan shrimp. I dont think the Catalan shrimp... More

Located near the Canal, La Trattoria Milanese offers superlative cooking with professional and excellent service in a rustic atmosphere that is also air conditioned. The food is superb, the pasta is homemade, and the wine selection is comprehensive. The waiters are taking care of you as if you were family, and there are very attentive to your needs. Overall La... I went to that restaurant because it got good reviews in general and besides it was close to where I where I was At first, felt Awkward since it seemed I was the 1st Arab Muslim to be there. When I wanted to order they found out that I am an Arab so they brought an Arab guy who is... More

The service is this place mirrors what I've found to be a prevalent attitude towards this end of the naviglio grade. They know they are always going to be busy with tourist business so they just don't even bother trying. The food is decent enough (though nothing special) but the staff are absolutely appalling (even by Milanese standards!) We waited... More

The restaurant was empty when we arrived which was already a bad sign.. We started off with the cannenelli bean and onion starter which was beyond bland. We had to go grab some olive oil and pepper to add some flavor. The fish was sub par and the ricotta spinach ravioli was very bland. The filling didn't even appear to... More

Went without a booking, minor debate as to a table available, found one. Felt totally rushed into ordering, was unsure of the italian menu, felt pushed into choosing expensive dishes and wine food arrived LITERALLY within minutes , was good but not a relaxed or enjoyable experience we were out within 45mins!!!! They obviously fitted us in but wanted us... More

Staying in Navigli

Neighbourhood Profile
Navigli
The Navigli is part of historic Milan. In the ancient days, the entire city was linked with canals, similar to Venice. Today, most of the canals are gone, but the Navigli remains a canal-based neighborhood. There are two major canals: Naviglio Pavese and Naviglio Grande. The Naviglio Grande's bridges greet visitors at dusk with an amazing view. The Navigli district specializes in clubs, cafes, and vintage shops. Lifestyle reigns supreme here. You can start the walk from the Colonne di San Lorenzo, an antique colonnade in front of the Basilica di San Lorenzo. During the daytime, this place acts as a meeting point for artists and students reading books or chatting with friends; the nights turn it into a stepping-stone for club hoppers. Science lovers will also relish the opportunity to visit the Science and Technology National Museum Leonardo Da Vinci, showcasing inventions of the Italian genius.
