This place is highly rated, but upon a recent visit the food was nothing special. Service was fine if a bit indifferent, but I expected something tasty and memorable, and my meal was just another average Italian dish. Disappointing (but the wine was good!)

Wirtshaus Voegele has a very cozy, Tyrolean feel, oozing warmth and “gemütlichkeit”. We were just about squeezed in without a booking during a very busy, weekday lunch service. From the menu I chose the traditional and hearty, farmer’s “gröstl”, plus accompanying cabbage salad with bacon-bits. It was terrific. Not exactly the same as the other renditions of this traditional classic... More

Very good prices for a nice menu. Quite German menu. The restaurant has a nice location and a nice atmosphere. Good restaurant for a couple but also a dinner with colleagues

Of all the establishments I have been taken to in the city of Bolzano, this is the only one I would recommend to friends and family. The food is very well prepared, local traditional dishes are perfectly done, contemporary dishes are done properly with excellent ingredients. The restaurant is multileveled; the first floor certainly my favourite. Cosy rooms, although full... More

This seems to be the in location for bozanians on a Friday night. The bar was packed to the brim making it hard to get in the door but don't be put off by this, then have plenty of seating in the back and upstairs. We came here looking for some traditional südtirolean cuisine and found just that. The schlutzkrapfen... More

Was seated on the second floor for dinner. One other group of four was already seated. Waitstaff forgot about us and ran across us 20 minutes later while stocking the upstairs wine shelves. Took our order first even though we were seated last. All in party ordered the weinerschnitzel with potatoes, which came very grisly, you could hear the gristle... More

We stayed on the ground floor, which for some may feel a tad crowded when filled to capacity. There is however a larger room on the first floor. Typical local cuisine that was very well cooked and tasty but could have been served a bit warmer. Possibly due to a full house. Impeccable and friendly service

We had a short list of restaurants we were interested in and we asked for recommendations from our hotel. They quickly crossed off several of the eight or ten names on the list as being mostly for tourists, but suggested this as one of the best remaining names. Good portion sizes, fair prices, nice local wine, helpful servers! Everything needed... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our evening meal at Wirtshaus Voegele. Service was good but food was the star. Would recommend reservation in the busy evenings.
