My Wife & I arrived at 20:00 on Tuesday 25th , we had not booked. We were shown to our table, the restaurant was quite busy. there is a €2.50 cover charge per person, but no service charge is added on top. We were given menus, our drinks orders were taken, I had 0.5L Vino Rosso €8 and my wife... More

Excellent service. Very good pizzas. Our neighbor went for the tartare which looked excellent (prepared in situ). Finished with a real creme brûlée (warm and grilled). Very satisfied

In which country is it normal not to greet the guests? I had book a table by phone and when I arrived and I told that to a waiter...no one said anything to us during 10 minutes. Waiters not looking at us while throwing menus on the table, didn't suggest anything when the dish I ordered was not in the... More

This was the first restaurant we visited in Venice this year. We were tired from the trip and a little emotional from the Prosecco. We both ate Pizza which was thin and crispy and very tasty, a simple meal with a glass of wine to send us off to sleep at the end of a day of travelling to one... More

Saw this restaurant was nearby when I looked on trip advisor for a decent place to eat as there are some very average and expensive places in Venice. Our food was really good and the waiter was great. It was really reasonably priced and the portions were huge. Recommend highly.

This steakhouse takes a little effort to find but if it's steak you are looking for I highly recommend this. The food and service are great and the deserts are delicious. If you find yourself in this part of Venice definitely try it. Reasonable priced also. Thank you for a wonderful time to staff.

Our hotel recommended this restaurant but our experience was not a good one. To be fair the food was good but the service and attitude were terrible. A glass bottle fell off the waiter's tray shattering and spraying juice and glass shards at my daughter. There were six adults in our party and one entree didn't arrive with the rest.... More

Ate here on our last visit to Venice almost two years ago and couldn't wait to return. Food was as fabulous as before, my steak was up there with best I have eaten. Service was a little slow but drinking the excellent wine in between courses helped us along. Would highly recommend a visit here and I will certainly be... More

I feel it's highly overrated. Waited too long for our dishes to come. The waiter didn't check on us once. The house red wine is very good. The grilled fish dish is mediocre. Expected more for this prices.

Just down from the apartment we stayed in. This was a truly great find excellent service by very friendly and helpful staff. The menu covered a good range of food and portions are exceptional. As our stay was during a good weather period this month it was nice to sit outside in the evening and dine while people watching. Thank... More

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighbourhood identity.
