This restaurant is highly recommended and we enjoyed it but felt we had to be on our best behavior instead of relaxing and enjoying our meals. Better food and atmosphere in other places.

The service was impeccable from start to finish. The only reason for the 4 vs. 5 stars is that regular prix fixe menu has some odd/non-traditional choices that weren't very appealing (IMHO). We ended up ordering the pasta with white truffles (for an extra 35 Euro each) and the salt encrusted red snapper (for an extra 15 Euro each), It's... More

We have visited a lot of marvelous restaurants. This is currently NR1. The combined atmosphere and state of the art food and wine is mindblowing. Visit on a warm summer night! Just... WOW!!!

Delicious food, in particular the fish courses. Very attentive service throughout the meal (they even brought us an extra little dessert as congratulations for getting engaged earlier during our trip!). Bravi!

The restaurant was the perfect place for my engagement! It was worth every dollar and some! The owner and staff were amazing and incredibly knowledgeable regarding the wines and food. Furthermore, the service was outstanding and the restaurant is beautiful. Better yet, the sea bass is worth traveling back to Venice from New Orleans, LA where restaurants battle for just... More

The owner of this restaurant is quirky and entertaining and guides you to your seat with great attention shaking your hand and making you very welcome. There is great pomp and ceremony in giving you the menu and explaining the dishes with most people choosing the tasting menu. However, this does not work for allergies. And actually I felt rather... Usually there are quite a number of restaurants with very adequate food. A real find is the Rviera which I explored during a conference at Ca Foscari University by chance. The price for a set menu sounds a bit much at first. However, the experience is really worth it. So, for a really special evening I recommend this restaurant fullheartedly.... More

This restaurant continues to delight each time we visit. My advice is only go here on your last night in Venice, because all the other restaurants will pale in comparison! It's not only the food, which is outstanding, but the knowledge and attitude of all the staff matches the excellence. The owner is very, involved in the business and his... More

Wonderful restaurant with a reputation that preceded it. Greeted by the delightful owner at our table (we chose the front room which was cosier) and enjoyed a fabulous 2 course meal followed by Tiramisu (what else). Do get there early so you can choose your table. BTW - She said yes!

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
