Great location and good way to catch up with friends. Value for money no frills service with good choice of cicchetti and drinks. Stand at the bar or outside there are also a few bar stools. Get Venetian with the Aperil Spritzer!

The pub is small so you may not find a place to sit. It is a very good place for an aperitif. The food is very good and the personal is nice. In my opinion it is too expensive.

If in Venice then stray a little way from the main attractions and try this small restaurant. The staff are welcoming and will advise you on a local dish or simply a coffee at comparatively reasonable prices. I promise you that you will return and be welcomed like royalty. A real warm experience

Super friendly - mainly stand up inside or outside. Good wine. A couple of glasses of local Merlot at 6 euro and a good range of tasty bite sized snacks to go with each round. Superb place to watch people go by - especially during Carnevale.

Popped in for a late drink on the first night of our Venice trip & enjoyed it so much we returned every night of our stay. The bar is very small , but has additional tables outside, just as well as it gets extremely busy with a good mix of tourists & locals alike. The bar staff were very friendly... More

Great spot for wine, beer and some appetizers. This location was around the corner from our hotel, and we went here for a light dinner. Also a great location for early drinks and an appetizer. We choose our drink and then pointed out several appetizers to try and they were prepared for us. We did another round of drinks and... More

My colleagues and I discovered this excellent bar after searching with difficulty for somewhere to have a drink without having to have a meal. The bar was small and busy with customers but the staff were friendly and helpful, remembering my individual drink order on the second visit, and there were even a variety of sandwiches to buy if you... They have it all here in this friendly family run neighbourhood bar. A small but quality choice of beers on tap (which I understand is changed regularly) an Italian wine list to die for and a wide range of freshly made cicchetti..with the 'speck and caprino' being my favourite, which is cheese wrapped in ham which had been soaked in... Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
