We have been here 6 years ago. Now teher seems to be a new owner and cook. So the Osaria is a real insider tipp. Very freiendly staff and a real good venetian (at least local) cook. Very good fish (for 2) and good house wine.

The best spaghetti marinara I ever had! Decent traditional Venetian cuisine! Non touristic place! Definitely recommended for anyone in the area who likes seafood.

The outdoor eating area is in a calle ended by a canale. It was fun observing passerbys walking their head on their gps or map and coming back... The service was kind. Fish is the main choice on the menu. We had antipasto, a plate of fried fish and cuttlefish in ink. The fried fish was veggies calamari rings and... More

A fabulous restaurant - the fish available were excellent value as was the 'fruits de mer' with black pasta. A local person recommended this place and it was first-rate. Menu is short but I think that reflects that everything is fresh on the menu.

The service was good, but the food was mediocre. I had a shrimp pasta dish that had a lot of pasta and six very small shrimp. It could have been a lot better.

Good service and good food, if you like fish. The house prosecco was excellent. I somehow managed to drink a litre carafe on my own....

What started out as a promising dinner with lower prices and smiles, soon turned to a journey of no return. Not only were the portions small, and we had to order extra just to make up for still being hungry, but when the dessert came, it was absolutely horrible and not delicious at all. We tasted two small scoops of... More

And a delightful meal it was too. We chose to visit based on TA reviews so thank you! Whilst it's tooked away a little the location remains lovely and our waiter was very kind and helpful. My first plate of Mussels and Clams was divine. My second plate of a mix of Shrimps and Ravioli parcels containing Sea Bream and... More

We found this place because another restaurant highly rated nearby did not appear appetizing. This was quiet, on the side and in a cooler spot. Beer was cold and the fried calamari tender and well seasoned. Best calamari I've ever eaten. The pannacotta creamy

Very good regional Italian food, nice atmosphere, fast and friendly staff, reasonable prices. Great value. Would definitely go again next time I am in Venice.

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
