Ate here with my girlfriend and we're happy with the place. They were about to close but they stayed open just for us. They were all really nice and the food was perfect. Would recommend!

My husband and I were staying at Ca' Angeli nearby and were delighted to be able to stroll to Osteria Vivaldi for a delightful meal served by the new owner. Our food was very good quality and the wine equally so. We look forward to another visit, next time we are in Venice and staying at Ca' Angeli.

My partner and I found this place on the off-chance and were not not disappointed! The food was delicious and the owner was very welcoming...he couldn't do enough for us. We would definitely recommend this restaurant!

Beautiful fresh fish. Friendly welcoming staff. Nothing too much trouble. Pizza was best I've had in Italy. Would definitely recommend a visit.

We went to this place on a whim, after traipsing around San Polo looking for a decent sized good value pasta. Most of the places we encountered served pasta as a first course only, as is to be expected in Italy. There are also some appalling restaurants near to this one so we steered clear of those. The portion size... More

Extremely fresh and well done fish. Exceptionaly frendly service. There were only a few people inside, so we were given full attention. The owner gave us quite a show serving our dish.

Perfect for my wife and I. Friendly, english speaking waiter. Wine and cocktails were perfect. Try the Negroni. Both pasta dishes were cooked perfectly. Side of broc. a little overdone for our taste but still flavorful.

We stumbled accross this pearl in the early afternoon. When we arrived we were the only guests and got the full attention from the waiter (who was also the owner). It didn't take mong before the restaurant was full though. (The new owner acquired the restaurant in december 2015) I ordered the seafood platter for starters (good for sharing) and... More

When I walked in the restaurant was completely empty so I thought of walking away. Since I was alone and very hungry I thought I would give it a try. What a bad idea! I ordered a risotto which must have been the worst risotto I ever ate...The menu wasn't very impressive. They were serving typical tourist dishes really...pasta bolognes,... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
