Gave it average, aire on the side of caution! not good pasta was stodgy and over-priced and waiter / owner wants a kick up the jacksy, to show some interest, OK for a quick snack if you want.

An ordinary Italian restaurant by the canal.. We have not tried pasta with squid ink before and decided to have a go. Tasty and interesting, to say the least. You must not forget to constantly wipe your lips as your lips will turn black after...More

First impressions were not too great as the menus looked well thumbed and the interior a bit scruffy ... BUT WAIT ... I ordered lasagne (wanted to see how real Italians make this childhood favourite) and my husband had a mixed seafood platter. We had...More

The concierge at our hotel recommended this little gem. The staff was very friendly and the food was excellent. Two of us had fish and two pasta and we all enjoyed it. The wine selection is limited to a house red and white, but otherwise...More

What a disappointing dinner. We had walked past this trattoria on previous visits to Venice and thought that it looked like an old fashioned, traditional trattoria so thought we would give it a go. Never again. We walked in and were not greeted by anyone...More

We went in for drinks and a snack to see how it would be for dinner. The waiter was slow and sullen. The scallops we ordered had obviously been frozen on a shell and had more dry breadcrumbs than scallops. The red house wine was...More

I'm always sorry to write a bad review, but I think it is so helpful for others that I feel in a way it is a responsibility to do so. I'll try, though, to be objective and just describe the experience as it went. So...More

Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district)
when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring
cars and buses close to the center of Venice.
Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking
Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes
with energy from travelers and students. Historic
palaces and former industrial buildings house some
departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture

Hello, we did not bring any menus back with us, all menus were in Italian, but they cater for vegetarian's as well as us meat eaters. My wife does not eat meat either, although loves fish. We found plenty of options on the... More
