Right outside the Rialto Hotel where we were staying. We were tired after trekking about, a bit hungry, and thirsty, so we ordered a liter of draft beer each...it was huge and tasted great, as was the pizza we ordered with it. Fun environment with both the other diners and the staff.

My wife and I enjoyed a short drink stop in the cafe, actually quite hard to find somewhere for just a drink during dinner time in Venice. We sat in side with the view of the Rialto bridge. A stunning landmark in a place of history. Service was fab but we got our drinks. Enjoyed our drinks as the masses... More

We stopped (4 of us) for pizza (and a gluten free tuna salad) a a glass of Prosecco. Great location and great food and drink. I will definitely go back there someday.

As we were staying near by we ended up here most nights for a spritz and a coffee. Good views of the Grand Canal but the Bridge is undergoing maintenance work. Friendly service and reasonable prices.

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
