Lovely location and cozy setting located down one of the many alleys in San Marco. I have coeliac disease and so am gluten free. My husband and I both were served gluten free breadsticks to start (was not charged for this). I ordered the 4 cheese pizza and my husband ordered the salami and mushroom pizza. Pizza’s were very tasty! Note that they are thin crust (I personally prefer thick crust but was still very tasty!). The pizzas are on the pricier side and honestly you could probably have the same for cheaper elsewhere. Service was awesome and everyone was very nice and welcoming. I would recommend to fellow coeliacs if you don’t mind paying extra (2 pizzas and two drinks came to €48).

As with many restaurants in Venice, it’s always advisable venture through the streets and move away from the Grand Canal. And sure enough we stumbled across Rosa Rossa and what a find it was. The menu is small, but perfectly executed. The pasta sauce was made from fresh ripe tomatoes, the Pizza’s were huge and amazing value for money. A vast wine selection to cater for all budgets. We’ll definitely be back!

We happened upon Ristorante Rosa Rossa as we were walking around and getting a bit purposefully lost in the maze of Venetian streets. It was 20:30 on a Saturday, so we were not sure we would get a table without a reservation, but luckily we nabbed the very last one available in the otherwise quite spacious restaurant. Honestly, we found everything to our liking in Ristorante Rosa Rossa. The service was very friendly (special thanks and cheers to a girl who lived in Mexico for some time; unfortunately, we didn't exchange names); the decoration is a nice blend of romantic, modern and wine bar; and the pizza & wine were delicious. So there's the summary as well - go there and enjoy :)

Not really impressed, nor with food neither and most important with the attitude of staff to costumers, they don't want to listen your questions till the end, the answer always is NO. There were many unocupied tables but instead we were offered the worst located table by the passage, hardly in half meter distance with neighbour table with 4-5 persons( no covid distance respect), we asked for more distanced table the answer was cold NO(!!!). To the question if they had home made wine-the reaction of server was like he was asked for atomic bomb lol. The prices of pizzas are not cheap for Italy and not baked in wood-fired oven. Turistic place, zero italian atmosphere, with artificial promoted positive rewies, and with no locals which tells a lot about the place.

Of the budget and moderately priced restaurants in Venice we tried, Rosa Rossa was by far the best. The quality of the ingredients and the atmosphere were a cut above the standard cafes and restaurants that are on every street in Venice. This restaurant is worth trying. The Lasagna was excellent and the pizza very good.

We have eaten here a few times before and the food is always delicious. On today's visit we were given a menu with less choice ( poss due to Covid?) it was written in Italian, usually there are translations underneath. I politely asked for one with English translations and the waiter pointed to one of those QR codes on the table and told me to use it. I replied that we didn't have a phone with us and he shrugged and walked off. Normally we would have got up and left but were so tired we decided to try and work it out. The waiter returned in a much better mood and helped with the menu, one item was lasagne which was called something totally different and I would never had guessed. Food once again was great with nice wine too. Give it a try but make sure you have your phone with you to translate.

This was the worst overpriced restaurant in Venice. Please do not go there. Both of our salads were wilting, the excuse was “it has been warm” and this was in January. The seafood platter was so sparse I was left still feeling hungry. Absolute rubbish food.

We called to make a reservation for our large family (7 people) and our hostess recommended our coming earlier so that we could have a nice meal before the curfew began, due to COVID restrictions in country. We are so glad we left the gallery early, because we had the place to ourselves; the chef made awesome bolognese for the children, off-menu, and the hostess kept the children fed with amazing bread and crayons while we ate. The wine was fantastic, as was the meal for adults: pasta with pheasant and seafood. Do not forget to get their house-made semi-freddo; we got ours to go, as it was getting late. An amazing end to the meal. The atmosphere, the staff and the food are well worth your reservation here: do not miss this Venice gem!

This restaurant is a bit off the main Rialto - San Marco route and requires a bit of walking in other directions, but it is worth the effort. Finding a really good price/performance restaurant in Venice is not easy, but this one will be on our list. As there were some thunderstorms in the area we decided to sit inside, and no, this restaurant has no access to canals, but therefore the food is exquisite. The service was great, and they do not need to lure people from the street - their staff services the patrons, and they do it well.I would say this is by far the best we have ever eaten in the city of Venice. Certainly worth a visit.

I’d give zero rating if it was possible. This is the sort of place where they blatantly rip off tourists, i would absolutely not advise anyone to go there unless you want to feel completely robbed My girlfriend ordered a spaghetti with sea food platter (which was supposed to include shellfish and fresh fish of the day) for €40. You’d expect it to be amazing at this cost however it was literally spaghetti with no sauce and had 5 small muscles, 2 prawns and no fish!! It was also served in the pan it was cooked in which was a bit odd with no thought gone in to presentation I ordered the Turbot with pasta and when it came out was not Turbot but a few scraggly bits of what looked like calamari. When I told the waiter they’ve given me the wrong dish the owner (I think or general Manager) came over and told me that they didn’t have Turbot so that’s why we got what we have and basically it is what it is. The waiting staff were friendly enough but we felt completely ripped off and the owner/manager could not see the issue with serving us one completely wrong dish and one unacceptable (for €40) dish.

Visited here for a double birthday celebration while in Venice. Service was poor. Waited a while to be seated & then order to be taken. Drink & food order taken together. Drinks came quickly and we're very nice. Food came very quickly. Food was presented well but very average. Portions are very small. Sides extra. Very over priced & under portioned. No further service. No body asked us if we would like any more drinks, no body asked if we would like dessert. We waited half an hour and finally we asked for the bill €159 for 4 extremely small plates of food & 4 drinks. We left very hungry. Beautiful restaurant but very over priced for the quality and portion of food.

After endless times hearing about what a great experience Rosa Rossa provides, on my last trip to Venice I’ve decided to experience it myself; I am Venice born and grew up there but been leaving abroad for the past 20 years so naturally, when I come back to my city, I typically go to the traditional osterie where I know I can relate to and feel at home…., until when I discover Rosa Rossa. What an AMAZING surprise! This place, ran magically by a Venetian Family, it’s a delightful journey of subliminally crafted Venetian food orchestrated by GianMarco, a very talented 24 years old Executive Chef (although he likes to be called Cuoco) and the mastermind behind this amazing place; His creations are purely amazing and the expression of joy for the eyes, the nose and the palate… a truly sensory journey, based on local food carefully handpicked by GianMarco himself. I did not order from the menu instead I have asked him to delight me with his creativity; the results? A tasting menu of incredible gems expressly created on the spot by himself. The ceviche, to pick one, it’s a must and to die for! The orchestra could not run magically with the conductor alone, so to my surprise I discovered that the amazing service between the kitchen and the restaurant is managed and delivered by his sister Rebecca, whose attention to details ensure the experience is impeccable and second to none; Amongst this fantastic duet there is, allow me to say, the soul of this place, Francesca (Gina! She will kill me for this 😄), the mother of the amazing duet, an incredible character, a true Venetian, from a great noble family, who will delight you not just amazing stories of the city and its people dating back centuries but also for her amazing knowledge of wines and spirits that blend effortlessly with the incredible food. A must, is the selection of grappe and arancello and limoncello (spirits made with oranges and lemons respectively) made by Francesca herself! I went back two nights after with some local friends that were equally surprised and delight. What else to say? I have experienced many restaurants around the world but never been delighted as much (mark my words, GianMarco will be the next Michelin Star) so, If you are looking for an unique Venetian restaurant with a twist and great atmosphere, Rosa Rossa is the one for you; trust the word of a Venetian.

I do like this restaurant. But initial impression was a little off. We arrived, shown to our table and presented with Italian menus. When questioned about English, we were direcetd to a QR code on the table. As this was our first night we did not have a phone with us. So we asked the waiter to explain, he shrugged his shoulders, pointed to the QR and walked off. Now I appreciate that this was Covid-19 adaptation, but a little more interaction would have been appreciated. He did return later though and explained the menu - who knew "Pasticcio" is lasagne. Cover charge is 2.50 euros PP, aqua cl65 was 4 euros, a medium beer 7 euros and 1/4lt vino also 7. I had pizza 10 euros, and my wife had the Pasticcio/lasagne. Food great, service OK this time, but having said that I do still recommend this place. TAKE YOUR PHONE!! Better first interaction and probably a five.

Dear guest, thanks for your nice review and also for your patience!! we used to have an italian menu with the english translation but, due to Covid emergency, we had to make a new menu and we thought it was nice to have a QR menu with multiple languagues in order to satisfy all our customers from all around the world! We are happy you still had a wonderful experience and we hope to have you as our guests again!

With all the very good reviews we read on TA, this was quite disappointing in terms of value. One of the dish was tasteless and the other was excellent but so small for the price that we can not be happy with this dinner. Maybe, should be worth to take pizze and pastas here where we can notice a lot of congrats....for the remaining dishes, let's avoid.

Dear TeamStPaul, we are sorry we didn't meet your expectations, we adjust every plate with the right amount of product as we do for all our plates. Maybe you are speaking about our starters, they are called starters because they are not meant to be main courses, they are small plates to have before the main course or perfect to be shared. As we say to all our customers, please, if you have any complain about the food, service or other issues, you should let the host/hostess know about that so we can manage to sort any issue out in order to satisfy and make all our customers happy. We hope you will give us another try so we can make things better for you and for us! Take care and keep on travelling!

Be warned! One of the tapas plates we chose was prawns (from the special’s board). The waitress suggested that we have a medium portion. When it came, with much fanfare and was chipped out of a salt case, we were presented with ONE prawn. For 30 EUROS. When we complained, not least because we were left hungry, and ordered a small pizza, the waitress did not charge us for the pizza. This was something but we are still left with the feeling that we were ripped off. A shame as it would have been good otherwise.

San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
