Little bar in a corner to grab a snack or a spritzer on the go. We had a few tiny snacks and spritzers which tasted amazing. Service was super efficient. No frills place but the quality is good enough.

Great little place to grab a snack, a light meal, and a glass of beer or wine, Simple and unpretentious! The price is also right!

We have been to Venice numerous times and always make a point of starting and/or ending our day of sightseeing (as we did on this trip) with a visit to this tiny bar (it's only 5 minutes/500 M off the Scalzi bridge to the bar)....Several friendly guys serve you inexpensive wines, beer and spritz along with simple sandwiches (breakfast /lunch) and snack trays (aperitivo time). On this visit: lunch was 2 small Campari spritz and 4 sandwiches for 8.60 euro and 2 double red wines and a simple snack tray (salami, cheese, twisty crackers) before dinner was 5.80 euro. To consider: it's a grab 'n stand corner bar - there are no tables and no facilities (toilets), but you don't want to waste valuable sightseeing time in Venice by sitting and slowing down (anyway, we don't...so it's perfect for us).More

This tiny Bacareto in the Santa Croce district specializes in small panini's and glasses of local wine. It was quite an experience. Once you get through waiting in line, with locals and university students, you'll enter the the tiny space greeted by 3 friendly staff...(2 serving you and one preparing the panini's). Unbelievable prices, panini's between Euro 1 to 1.20 and wine ranging from 0.80 to 1. Had 3 panini's and a glass of wine for less than Euro 5. You can eat outside either on the church stairs or next to the canal. Less than a 5 minute walk from train station. Enjoy.More

Part of the fun about being in Venice is finding little bars to have a small bite & a quick drink as you wander around. This bacareto is a little off the usual tourist runs and full of locals. Since it's outside the hot tourist...zones, you'll find that it's an inexpensive stop for a small glass of wine (less than a euro), a spritz (1.70 euro) and cicchetti for 1 euro or 1.20 euro. Just 2 men on duty - one on counter and one prepping - the man on service is super nice and very efficient. We made our way over here to have "breakfast" for both our mornings in Venice despite it being about 15 minutes from our hotel (thanks to other TA reviewers). Weird having wine or spritz for breakfast, but we adapted quickly - ha. Seriously, we stuffed ourselves for under 10 Euro each morning and were off and running until lunchtime. Too bad we were so far away doing tourist sites to drop back for lunch.More

Easy to get there from Santa Lucia station or Piazzale Roma. You can quickly grab a small aperitivo in the company of delicious cheese and ham just like the locals to enjoy the moment. There are no sitting, only few tables made of old barrels,...however you can seat by the canal or on the steps nearby.More

I really wanted to try this vaunted cicchetti bar, especially since it was just down the street from our hotel. I wish I could agree with the 5 star reviews, but I can’t. I knew what to expect before going (long line, tiny counter for...ordering, mostly having to stand while eating). What I didn’t expect was that the line would take forever on a Saturday afternoon (in the hot sun) and that the various cicchetti offered were so limited in choice. There were very few options and I did not see any seafood. And I was surprised that the cicchetti were very hard rolls rather than open faced as I had expected. We pretty much left the hard dry rolls on the plate and just ate the interior (which was fresh). Staff at the counter were very friendly, so that is a plus, but with a long line behind us, we were compelled to quickly choose what we wanted. I speak Italian and am familiar with Italian culture, but this “cultural” experience disappointed me. There is a certain esprit de corps among the patrons, so that helped a bit. Prices are very low, so I guess that is the draw for many.More

This place is a must to visit! In an overpriced city this place is a respite from overcharging. The wine is 80 cents for a glass of red or white. Sweet or dry. You can get meat, cheese and crackers for €1.60. you can also...get bread here but they had run out when we arrived. This place proves you don't need to rip people off and still serve delicious food and wine. Pay this place a visit!More

A true Bacaro and a MUST for any visitor to Venice. The square this is located on is a true reflection of the real Venice. The cicchetti from here was perfect. We went back every night and will every time we visit.

We only found this place towards the end of our stay- and we were so pleased we did. It would be near the very top of my list for food and drink related experiences in Venice. The little filled rolls are delicious (my favourite was...the porchetta with mustard, absolutely wonderful), the ombra of wine are well-chosen and tasty, the service was quick and yet still friendly- and I was so pleased they had some nice vegetarian food choices for my wife. Clearly very popular- we had to queue both times- but the queue moves fast and it just added to the anticipation!More

I don't recall any fish. As far as vegetarian, you could get cheese and tomato on your sandwich. The counter guys were very nice and helpful.
