Dinner at Trattoria Storica was very nice without being remarkable. We chose this restaurant as it was close to our hotel on a clean street and looked romantic with its little outside seating area fenced off from the street with the trellis and planters of...More

We ate at Trattoria Storica on our last evening in Venice. After a little snafu with the reservation and showing up a bit early (attributed to a mutual language barrier) we got seated and enjoyed our evening. We had a larger group (8 people) which...More

It is not the best place for lunch or dinner in Venice. Interesting place with good brand, but if you are not Italian they serve you as other kind of person. When you order you should ask about the prices, tipes of menus and number...More

Great restaurant used by locals, friendly staff and ambience. We had a big fish for two, good local wine, roasted patatoes as side dish.

Our hotel recommended this place as a local place. Couldn’t really tell because it seemed there were tourists there. My husband ordered pasta bolognese which was not good. Basically it was just pasta with sauce. Also there was an accordion player there who didn’t come...More

I had a very bad plate of gnoccheti with I think a monk fish. It was swimming in a pool of unrecognizable fat and accompanied by cherrie tomatoes well past their prime. To his credit the offended owner took it off the bill.

Spent a week in Venice with old friends. Decided on this occasion to escape the madding crowd, and booked an excellent apartment in Calle Venier, Cannaregio, one bridge to the south of the Jesuit square. To our delight, there was this excellent, unheralded, restaurant on...More

Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district)

for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal
bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution,
2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli
Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby
