This place has a great vibe and the food is really good. Prices are very reasonable but you'll need google maps to find the place. Well worth a visit once you've found it. Don't be put off by the outside; the inside is very clean and well laid out. I thoroughly recommend eating here.

Very friendly owner and waiter. Great food and wines. Local dishes served with a modern twist. The signature Fried fish and sea food was wonderful,as were the mussels and clams. Lovely setting, either sitting outside in the quiet square or the modern stylish restaurant.

Food is a 5 but service is a 1. Keep reading... Went here to splurge on our last dinner to conclude a 2 week trip to Italy. Food was amazing, service was awful and we were not treated well at all. One of the worst service experiences during our whole trip. FOOD: the pasta with ricotta cheese and vegetables was... More

I'd read that Venice was expensive for poor quality food. Obviously the person who wrote that had never been to Trattoria da Jonny! Nestled in a small piazza on a backstreet in the Castello district, this place is well worth seeking out. Tastefully decorated with a modern twist of classic Italian cuisine, we thoroughly enjoyed our lazy lunch and heartily... More

We didn't plan to eat here but on walking through the streets of Venice from our apartment we happened to come across the restaurant and knew immediately that we wanted to try the place out. The location alone was perfect. Slightly away from.the busier parts of town and set in the corner of a sleepy square. We didn't think we'd... More

We went to Da Jonny for lunch and went back two days later for a great diner. Excellent kitchen! Nice and pleasant people! Wished they had an Amsterdam franchise. Great place tongo with family, friends or just the two of you.

Last night in Venice was made even more memorable by eating at Jonnys. Food was amazing as well as the service. Staff were welcoming and friendly and even offered an umbrella to an adjacent table for them to get back to their hotel during a storm. Would go back for more of the selections on the menu.

Jonny is tucked away off of the beaten tourist area but it is well worth finding them and having a dinner! This was our last night in Italy and we've had numerous good/great dinning experience over 11 days thanks to TripAdvisor. Jonny was one of top two restaurants that we loved during our trip. We ordered seafood combo appetizer consisting... More

We passed by this place a few times, then we saw a review and decided we had to try it. When we told the man at the door our name, he called us that the rest of the evening. My wife had the Tagliatelle with Seafood, and I had the Soft Shell Crab special. It's special because these crabs' shells... More

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
