Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I am not a huge fan of seafood, (this restaurant was not my choice), but managed to find a couple of dishes to work my way around it. The food was quite delicious. We would have liked to have tried dessert but the evening ran...so long with very slow service that we never were asked. The waiter was polite but too overstretched. We ordered wine at the start but it didn't arrive until the main course and even then, we had to remind the waiter as he forgot. He also interrupted while ordering which was annoying. Some dishes have similar names but he would cut you off before you clarified which version of the dish you were requesting. Again, nice service but not exactly patient and very slow with not enough staff.More

I know that ordering Linguine with lobster can be hit or miss, depending on how much lobster is in the meal. I specifically asked the waitress how much lobster the restaurant served. She assured me that it was 1/2 of a lobster. She was not...truthful. There was less than 1/2 of a small lobster tail. There was no need for her to deceive me. If she told me the truth that there was very little lobster, I would have ordred something else. The dish was certainly not worth 39euro.More

One of those great out of the way delights. Great food, excellent wine selection. Even the playlist that night was great - if you enjoy 70’s and 80’s music. The desert was a great variation on salted caramel ice cream and served with great flare....Recommend booking as it is popular - but well worth the effort.More

Went for my birthday. Very disappointed. Staff seemed not particularly interested. We ordered second bottle wine and wanted us to drink it quick as they were closing! Given our meal was booked for 9.00 we did not expect to be told to drink up around...10.30. No offer of coffee etc. Food mediocre too.More

Food was great. Seafood for starter was fresh and well prepared. The pasta dishes were perfect. The stars of the show were the staff that were really welcoming and friendly & even offered us an amazing local digestif to round the evening out. Highly recommend!

Never come here as a tourist, or if you're not fluent in Italian. When we arrived, the bartender let us know that they had no room, so we checked on OpenTable and found a reservation that fit us for 30 minutes later. When we returned,...the bartender blatantly told us to leave. We showed them our reservation, but he told us the manager isn't in, and he doesn't do OpenTable. A server came as we were leaving and was nice enough to seat us..right across from the bar. For the rest of our stay, the bartender constantly gave us dirty looks and death stares. We didn't stay long... I've never been treated so terribly at a restaurant. The one server we had at lease attempted to be nice to us but the bartender was completely inhospitable. Never come here unless you're a local.More

A wonderful find. Situated down a small street we probably wouldn’t have booked it but after reading reviews and because it was close to our hotel we decided to give it a try. The meal was excellent. We had lobster with linguine which was expensive...but excellent. Worth every penny! I followed this with homemade ice cream and caramel sauce, wonderful. The service was also excellent. The restaurant was very busy so advisable to book.More

Exceptional service and really amazing pasta. We arrived once the restaurant was already closed and they still accommodated us. Great place.

Really good food - I had the spaghetti with a white beef salad ragu and fresh parmigiano. And good Lugana white wine from the Veneto. Lots of fresh fish on the menu too. Classic wood decor, Really decent place for an authentic Venetian meal.

This place is pure Venice as you may imagine it: secretive classy and friendly like only this magical city can be. Try their special spritz with flaming show, the tagliolini al tartufo and the crudo …. I’ll be back for more soon

I wished we had booked an earlier table be had a sitting at 9pm and were last out of the restaurant and felt rushed at the end although the service was slow to begin with. Waiting ages to get served drinks. Also didn’t have everything...on the menu. That said the food we didn’t have was some of Italy’s finest, we really enjoyed the food.More

I went to Osteria Da Bubi for my birthday meal after seeing all the reviews on Trip Advisor. To be fair, the food lived up to the reviews. It was very tasty. However, the service went from very slow at the start of the evening,...to non-existent by the end. I fully understand when it is busy, service may be a little slow, but there were only five tables left when we finished and we were ignored for more than half an hour after our dishes were cleared. No coffees, deserts or liquors were offered. Instead, the staff concentrated on clearing tables from other diners who had left. No, it was not closing time either, they just weren’t interested. When eventually giving up and asking for the bill, I told them we had wanted desserts, coffees and an Amaretto. No apology, just the bill.More

Called “Osteria” but definitely a restaurant. A bare-walled place found down one of the many narrow alleys not far from San Marco. The food was very well prepared and very tasty and exactly what we were hoping to find. The place was full, and there...was a pleasant buzz (great atmosphere). A sensible menu and wine list. The lady who appeared to be in charge, apologised for the poor service, but in truth, although a little slow, it was nothing terrible, and the restaurant was very busy. Happy to conclude therefore that we had no complaints and plenty to praise. We would certainly return to this lovely place and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.More

A place with many locals, so I thought it would be worth it. I had one alle vongole, which was nothing special. Almost no sea taste at all. Also all the shellfish came without the shells, so we had a lot of mussels and a...very few (if any) from clams or other shellfish. For dessert we ordered tiramisu which never came, although they served it to 3 tables around us, ordered it after usMore
