Good food, great atmosphere and very reasonable. The restaurant is very busy and you will need to book in advance. There a queues for lunch and at night there was people queuing outside and I was January !!!. That sums it up

The restaurant had a wonderful waterfront view. However was very expensive. My family and I got 3 coffees and a coke and spent 38 Euros. The menu didn't have prices for any of the drinks and we were unaware of the outrageous bill we would soon have to pay.

Stay away from this place what ever you do!!!! Stopped by to have a cold beer with my family...two large beer cost us 30 Euro. The waiter told us that was the only beer that was cold. He didn't give us a bill, only wrote the amount on a napkin and handed it to us.

The reviews don't lie. This bar is an insult to Italy. Rude staff and overpriced. Went in for coffee and got yelled at for trying to drink our coffee at a table instead of the bar.

For the location this restaurant is great value for money! Word of advice DO NOT USE THE TOILET! No seat or toilet roll! Really lets the place down. Other than that the food is lovely. I ordered a lasagne which I was told was homemade and it was very tasty! My partner ordered a panini which was average at best.... More

This place is a joke. Their prices are not real. They will charge you double or more!! €6 for a bottle Of water and whatever the menu price is for food they charge you double. It is cash only no credit cards. The owner is a fraud man! Beware

I'm going to do barely more than echo previous comments but if it helps others avoid being ripped off then it will have been worth it. Rude staff. Average service. Oh, and the price - €41 for one portion of chips, an ice cream, small bottle of water, a Diet Coke and a bottle of beer. The bill looked odd... More

We made the mistake of coming here for two iced coffees assuming it wouldn't be that bad because the order was small. 26 f'ing euros for a drink we barely finished. No remorse from staff as they were likely used to hearing it. DO NOT COME HERE - DEFINITION OF A TOURIST TRAP. I would give it a 0 if... More

Stopped for a drink before catching our ferry. Got charged €7 for a small glass of wine (we had 3), and €5 for a very small water. When I asked for an itemised receipt, no items were specified. Don't bother.

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
