Very local place, not fancy but very original. Good and simple food but well tasting. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere.

We Have had many meals in Venice But this is the best , honest down to earth setting which is popular with locals ( always a good sign in my book) . Try the spaghetti with Sepie nero with cuttlefish it’s delicious along with other...More

Disappointing visit , food fresh and authentic but not the cheap and cheerful Italian experience we had expected . We would not recommend or return.

Workmen come in at lunch time, have a huge plate of pasta, or stand at the bar for 5 minutes and have a coffee and catch up with the gossip. Food a bit variable. The first time we had a plate of seafood pasta which...More

This is a restaurant for workers, the tastes are of great Italian home cooked meals. Just sit down (workers are priviliged to tourists) and enjoy. If you visit Giardini, Biennale, this is wonderful.

We stumbled upon the restaurant just minutes from our accommodation with a lovely view of the canal. The staff were friendly and attentive, the food and prosecco was delicious and very well priced. After lovely carbonara, spaghetti al pom and tagliatelle fungi we shared the...More

Authentic lunch frequented mostly by locals, Trattoria Alla Rampa is fantastic. Get the “special” lunch for 25€. Two courses with house wine and coffee. Ours was gnocchi with mussels, cod with tomatoes and olives and a side of roasted potatoes, peas and spinach. Everything was...More

Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri
(districts), and the only one not facing onto the
Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated

one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime
neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side
streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals
