Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My 11 year old son and I had dinner here to end our trip together throughly Italy. What a magnificent experience! From the moment we walked into the restaurant, the service was outstanding. The maitre d’, captain, and front waiter all took time to talk...to my son and ask him questions about our trip. They made him feel important and not a distraction, as many young children are seen at nice restaurants. We both got the 6 course tasting menu and it was amazing. First the amuse bouche was presented and it was 4 small bites that were all unique and packed with flavor. Following that were our 6 courses: Swordfish Scallops Pasta Seabass Quail *pre-dessert Lemon curd *mignardises Each course was beautifully plated and the flavors were balanced. This was an absolutely fantastic dining experience from start to finish. Thank you to the entire staff for making our evening so memorable.More

Tasty and well presented food, friendly and hospitable staff, lavish wine selection. It takes about one and a half up to two hours for a 6 course meal. The staff made us feel at home and had great ice breaker jokes. Really enjoyed the Barone...Pizzini Franciacorta Golf 1927 wine they recommended.More

We celebrated my daughter’s birthday here. Was an amazing evening. Had the private table for 6 right when you walk in with window onto the canal. Read other reviews about this table feeling uncomfortable and awkward. We loved it. Were treated like royalty. Two servers...that felt like they were dedicated to our table. The amuse bouche were 4 wonderful bites that provided great start to the meal. Pasta dishes (spaghetti w prawns in chili oil and ravioli) were great along with sea scallops to start. The sea bass and turbot fish dishes even better. And the steak amazing. After dinner we were all provided a light bite of sorbet to cleanse palate. Desserts were great (chocolate soufflé cake and milliefoglie). And after all that they still brought delicious petit fours at the very end. We’ve been to several Michelin star restaurants in the US and France and this is comparable to many of these. Excellent preparation of every dish. Unique tastes. Attentive service. Highly recommend if looking for a special meal in Venice without sky high prices (expensive but there are many more expensive places that are not as good).More

We don’t like writing reviews like this, especially when it’s a special occasion and we’re happy to let small things go, but for the price we really expected good service and that’s not what we experienced at this restaurant. The day before, we dropped in...to ask whether it would be possible to have a vegetarian version of the tasting menu - we were greeted by a lovely man who then passed us onto the manager, who honestly was quite dismissive but assured us that it won’t be a problem. We even stated that it was no issue at all if they didn’t do a vegetarian tasting menu but he assured us this wouldn’t be an issue. We got there the next day and I asked for the vegetarian tasting menu as discussed and the very same manager told us they don’t do one! When we looked a bit confused he quite rudely said it again and stormed off while we were mid-sentence. The food was very good and it wasn’t an issue to order from the a la carte menu, we were just quite surprised by the coldness we were received with. It’s almost as if he didn’t want to have a discussion about it because he remembered our conversation the day before and had promised something they couldn’t deliver. There was one very lovely waiter but another who ignored us several times when we tried to speak to her - I’m sure not deliberately, but it’s a small restaurant and we do feel for the price it warrants a bit more attention to the very few diners there. We agreed it was disappointing as you’d expect a little more hospitality from a high-end restaurant. The food was delicious of course but it’s a shame because it was let down a bit by how we were received.More

Visited the Alle Corone last night for my wife's birthday and we both had a wonderful time. We had the 8 course tasting menu, which was delicious, and truly epic in scale! There were a number of fantastic taste combo surprises, with all ingredients being...of the highest standards, beautifully cooked and presented. The restaurant ambience was perfect for a special occasion (we like clean tablecloths, comfy seats, elegant glasses, cutlery and crockery). The staff were efficient, knowledgeable and so lovely in manner that they made the experience truly memorable for us. We would thoroughly recommend the Alle Corone (particularly its tasting menu) for a special evening out. Well done to everyone involved there! Thank you.More

Service was horrendous. The staff were exacting about the pronunciation of various items and then when we told them explicitly that a member had a nut intolerance and could not have any nuts, they proceeded to assume that it was peanuts and served dishes with...nuts on them. What’s worse, is that when confronted about the nuts, they said “no, almonds are not nuts”. This is dangerous! You have to know about nut allergies…. And we made it clear to the staff that it was all nuts - not just peanuts. Food overall was fine. Nothing spectacular - plenty of better options in the city.More

How this restaurant doesn’t have a Michelin star, I don’t get. Had dinner there last night, 8 course tasting menu, that was truly spectacular. The only meal we had in our 15-day tour of Italy that surpassed it was the 3 star Osteria Francescana in...Modena. If you are in Venice, you have to eat here.More

I gave 5 stars because we loved the food but I excluded from the rating the service. It is unacceptable for us to experience waiters with attitude. We expressed this and he changed the attitude however it felt fake and we felt uncomfortable through the...evening. I would not go back knowing that I would be waited by the same person. Also not being able to tip by card at an establishment like this for us is unacceptable, explanation given was that the Italian taxes are high.More

Recently (29/6/2023), my wife and I and two other couples dined at Ristorante Alle Carone, located in the exclusive Hotel Ai Reali in Castello. The ambience is contemporary, relaxed, and intimate, limited to about 6 tables. We savored the six-course tasting menu. Highlights included an...eclectic collection of cicchetti (dabs of whipped pecorino and fig on crunchy polenta chips; tasty cheese sculpted as a bright red tomato on a bed of polenta; cuttlefish crudo); tender, seared swordfish marinated in spices, sour cream, and pomegranate; fresh, whole squid stuffed with cod, creamed potatoes, and carletti (sweet, mild and fruity); hearty spaghetti with octopus ragù, garlic and chili pepper; delectable steamed turbot fillet, covered in a Cantabrian anchovy mayonnaise (dreamy umami flavor), garnished with radish and tatsoi; and tender, roasted pork belly with snow peas, kumquats and chives mayonnaise, which lent a sweet, salty, and citrusy flavor. Kudos to Chef Mauro Catiello, who graciously visited our table, and his dedicated staff. With his culinary artistry, mastery of flavor and cooking technique, I envision a Michelin star in his future. We look forward to our next visit.More

We went for dinner and had the tasting menu. The restaurant is pretty close ot the Rialto bridge. The service was very good although we could not always understand the descriptions the server gave of the items. The dining room was nice but not exceptional...in any way. The food was just ok.. I was hoping for a better experience based on other reviewsMore
