This unassuming storefront hides a cute interior with a nice wine selection and delicious cicchetti. We had the rice balls, which I would recommend! During happy hour everything is only 2-3 Euro.

while strolling the streets of Venice we decided to give a chance to this cosy place and had extremely delicious snack there accompanied by a glass of beer because the day was hot. surely recommend the place - two polite guys behind the bar, fresh ingredients in your meal and great pastime

We ordered a mixed table of eight kinds of appetisers, each of them were delicious. It doesn't take too long to get your order, if you are in hurry, in 15 minutes approx. You'll finish. They have fish, beef, chicken, a good variety even for vegetarians

We went here 3 times during our 3 day visit to Venice. The owner Guido is so friendly and the service is first class. It is small and cosy and the pizzas are the best I've ever had in my life!! We were also given a huge complimentary bowl of crisps, peanuts and olives with our drinks. We enjoyed sparkling... More

A good selection of pasta, bread and sweet based carry out food. Also a place to eat inside. Traditional small alley, with a warm feel and delicious treats.

It was a very rainy cold day in Venice and we were looking for a bite for lunch and walked past a le Bande, the bruschetta in the window caught our eye. Once inside we smelled the delicious aromas and decided this was the place for us! It is very small with just a few tables. We tried many small... More

We had a pre-dinner drink here and the wine was the best value we had in Venice all weekend. €4 for a large glass of excellent Valpolicella. Very knowledgeable and friendly proprietors and well worth seeking the place out for a pre-dinner drink. Didn't eat so can't review the food but have given it five stars in case a lower... More

Trying to find a place in the center of the shopping streets where they don't rip you off or rush you into leaving as soon as you finish is difficult enough. A lot of places serve big dishes as well and frown upon you when you just order a drink. Found this place by accident, thinking there are no real... More

Found this place by accident, we stumbled across it and had a simple ham pizza with 2 glasses of chilled wine. The pizza was sooooo delicious. The next day we tried to find it and after 1hr of looking we came across it again!! But it was closed for day off! We was so sad. We are going back to... More

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
