The staff was truly welcoming. At last a smile! Salted fish of the day a revelation. As was the lamb. Although not as rare as we would have liked it. Not your everyday restaurant and a little pricy but exquisite. Was open late.

We returned to this restaurant after 28 years and found it just as impeccable as before. Truly exceptional food and service. We returned two nights later and were the only people there (second week of January is not high season). Again food was exceptional and we had a chance to speak to a remarkable young man on staff who is... More

Booked this in advance and planned for my partners birthday. Specifically asked them for a table by the front. On emails and concierge was fantastic, I can't complain. On arrival all the tables near the water were taken up, I asked to be seated on the next available table which was on the bar side by the water. Staff said... More

We dined here on our last night at the hotel and it is so lovely to have a wonderful meal looking out on to so many beautiful places.

This restaurant is in the Bauer hotel where we were staying. It was our first night after flying all night. The food was pretty good. Not quite five stars. A little predictable for the price. That being said, we enjoyed our evening and the service. Everyone was very polite if not a little frazzled.

Me and my partner had reserved a table at this restaurant months in advance, we arrived and yes the venue was lovely overlooking the canal and the table we were seated at was romantically set however service mediocre! We had asked on several occasions for a drinks menu, finally received a drinks menu after asking at least three different people... More

I have booked the restaurant well in advance as it was my husnand's 40th birthday. I asked for a nice table and a candle in his cake. I received the confirmation. When we arrived we were placed at a nice table indeed but then the problems started. The waiter did not speak any english, and was not able to explain... More

I made a reservation for me and my girlfriend, stunned by the view and the lights from the open air area. The reservation was at 9 30 and unfortunately we arrived at 10:10 because, being a tourist sometime means to get lost. We arrive, and the maître told us that we couldn't have a seat because of a not well... More

My wife and I decided to spend the last dinner of our honeymoon and De Pisis and we were not disappointed at all! Had a table right on the water with a phenomenal view. The food was absolutely exquisite - tasty and creative. It is however an expensive night out, and our final bill came to 350€ ... not an... More

My rule is if the view is the draw the food usually is mediocre. Not the case here. The food was amazing and the view was the cherry on top. Took the whole family and for a high end restaurant my kids loved everything. Highly recommend a visit. The hotel was wonderful to visit for its architecture and furnishings.

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
