After touring the Ghetto we had to make a reservation for later that afternoon which was honored when we returned. Excellent Latkes, good matza ball soup. My wife really enjoyed her salmon pasta and my schnitzel was good. Saw some other dishes I would like of tried for sure. I would recommend.

This place is a must in Venice. Whilst it's neither a large nor flashy restaurant, it is a family style restaurant, that serves delicious, traditional Jewish food. I look forward to visiting this place every time I'm in Venice and look forward to leaving with a take home container of their hummus!

We are the most wonderful, fresh food for such a reasonable price. This is a wonderful part of Venice laden with kosher restaurants. I can definitely say that this was the best food we have eaten in Venice! We had the antipasti selection with lots of delicious dips and falafels etc. Followed by the matza ball soup which I found... Nice atmosphere and good food. The prices were reasonable and the staff friendly. Ate there twice and both meals were tasty and came quickly.

One of the best meals we have had in Venice and well worth waiting for a table. We had one of our best meals in Venice and thoroughly enjoyed the specialities of the house. Great atmosphere and we enjoyed good and friendly service. Too cold to sit outside, but it is in a lovely location on the edge of the... More

We wanted to get away from traditional turkey and sprouts on xmas day and what better way than to eat in a kosher restaurant in the Old Ghetto in Venice! The place was packed, but we managed to get a table on the quayside. The food was absolutely delicious. Service was a mixture or very good and not-so-good. The young... More

It's located in the Old Ghetto, not too far from the Grand Canal We had a delicious fish cous cous, which I highly recommend. The service is friendly, prices are good and they do not charge the service fee It was a bit cold inside, our experience would have been perfect iwith a few extra degrees.

Not looking for (know nothing about) kosher food, When we arrived for lunch, the inside restaurant was obviously full but found a table outside overlooking the canal (Christmas day!). First waitress was grumpy but others welcoming. The food was very good and our service was fine. But a young French couple on the next table had a bad experience with... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
