Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Celebrating my birthday at Osteria alle Testiere in Venice was an experience I'll treasure forever. Tucked away from the bustling streets, this hidden place welcomed us into a warm, cozy atmosphere that felt immediately like home. The staff greeted us with warmth and friendliness, making...the evening even more special. Each dish we savored was absolutely "pazzesco". I highly recommend this Osteria to anyone looking to immerse themselves in the genuine charm of Venice. Surrounded by friends and friendly faces and unforgettable food, it was the perfect place to mark another year of life. PS: do not forget to taste the wine :)More

Another hommage to Angela Hartnett TV show about eating out in Venice. Book this restaurant WELL IN ADVANCE 3 couples at different tables were there due to the TV program/Times review Very pleasurable experience in really quaint location deep in the old part of Venice...(if you didn't know it was a restaurant there, you would walk past it! Simply great authentic food with a wine list to die for (and help from the waiter to choose a Venetian region red (which was not expensive) Clam Pasta (spaghetti alle vongole) was absolutely delicious. Owner was really chatty and approachable, our waiter was a huge assett to the restaurant, nice cook book to buy as well!More

What a great restaurant. Friendly staff and wonderful food (with gluten intolerance catered for easily). Central location, easy to find, and we left having had terrific food and a great experience. Thank you

Excellent dinner that has been the best of our trip so far. The staff and the owner were really pleasant and so friendly. Would highly recommend. We had the smoked burrata and the octopus salad to start and then a sharing plate of mixed seafood....All of it was delicious and worth every penny.More

Small but not cozy place. Very scarce portions at very high prices. And most of all, arrogant owner, full of himself and very unkind with the clients. Save your time and money and go somewhere else.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Deified place in which the property serves its ego and not the client. EXPENSIVE for small portions. Good but not justified the price. NO GOOD FOOD IS WORTH IT IF THEY TREAT YOU BADLY.

OMG...AMAZING MEAL! My wife and I visited here our last night in Italy for our Anniversary. We saw this YouTube review which featured this restaurant and boy...it exceeded expectations. Chef Bruno was AMAZING. We even caught a glimpse in the morning after he had gone...shopping. I would fly back to Venice simply to dine here again! Don't hesitate. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend. Very cozy restaurant and excellent staff!More

I could not praise Osteria alle Testiere enough. It was one of the most amazing meals that I have experienced. From the warm and friendly welcome, through the faultless service, and of couse the fabulous food. All fantastic! We shall most certainly return!

Very good but not as good as the hype Are here recently having booked a few weeks in advance for lunch. The food was good. The service from “Stanley”.. if you know you’ll know … was polite but he only seemed to speak Italian. The...service from the lovely waitress was warm and friendly. The food - we ate razor clams, sea bass and monkfish. All were well cooked in unusual sauces - the clams were tasty - a little gritty and had fairly large pieces of ginger in. The wine - 10 euros by the glass was ok. Tbh if Angela and Fred hadn’t recommended this place I would have not bothered. Come if you want but there are better places in Venice this are even better and of similar value.More

As a reasonably serious “foodie” it’s hard to beat the pleasure of going to a great restaurant off the beaten track in a major city. Osterria alle Testiere ticks all the right boxes in this regard. Unless you are a local, I suggest you invest...in a good map to locate the unimposing street where it’s located. Once there you’ll be rewarded with superlative food and wine, with fresh fish being the star of the show. Service is attentive, unrushed and courteous. Prices reasonable for such quality. Manager Luca presides over proceedings with charm and grace. I can’t promise you’ll be sitting next to Stanley Tucci if you visit but in my humble opinion the restaurant should be on the itinerary of anyone who wants to enhance their stay in the wonderful city of Venice with a great meal.More

This is our favorite restaurant in the world. It had been several years since we had been, but the food was even better than we remembered. During 4 days in Venice we ate here twice and would have done thrice had there been seating.
