Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It is a nice simple restaurant, with a kind of family atmosphere, but it has a basic problem: food is bad, actually quite strange. I am afraid that their cuisine is marred by the habit to cater to tourists just off the nearby train station....I cannot but recommend to avoid it.More

Fantastic restaurant, tucked away from the main thoroughfare near the train station, a lovely warm welcome, great quality food, very good value and will definite visit again the next time we are in the city.

The total impression was just awesome! Ilke the guy, owner? I am not sure, but he is Italian and he looks like really sincere and polite, tried to speak so many language for us, as customer's nationalities. I visited here with my friend from Japan....We ordered two kinds of pasta and two desserts. I ate spaghetti alle vongole, my friend ate squid ink spaghetti. Both were really good!!! Oh! We shared "Mixed Bruschetta" as well. It was so good tastes like pizza on toast, but tomatoes were very rich and much better than pizza. Our desserts were Tiramisu and something with pistachio, forgot the name, however those two desserts were also delicious! Although we would like to try some stake or something, we were stuffed and satisfied. I would recommend this restaurant to my friends and you!!!More

We actually had two lunches and a dinner at this trattoria. There was a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, evident from the moment one walked in. The staff were very efficient and friendly and Claudio (the boss) was incredible - friendly, funny and at times totally...crazy! The food was excellent and the prices reasonable. certainly on our list for the next visit. Thank you Claudio.More

This unassuming trattoria down a side street, not far from the main station served up the most delicious meals we’ve had in any city we visited. As a family of four we each ordered different dishes and each one was absolutely scrumptious! Bold and balanced...in flavours, delicate pastas and perfectly cooked meats. Our first dinner was so delicious we went back a second time and ordered different dishes and were equally as delighted. The staff were so warm and friendly it just further added to the experience. They don’t stand out front and hound you to come in, and frankly, they don’t have to- the food and the service speaks for itself. This is a must visit when you’re in Venice!More

Friendly service and delicious food! The risotto with shrimp was really great but the sepia with polenta was fantastic. Giacomo was very attentive and made our evening special. One of the best meals we've had in Venice!

We just arrived in Venice and the hotel told us to go here. We just traveled from Rome where everything was great but this is the best food experience I had so far. The spaghetti with cuttlefish ink was amazing and the spaghetti with seafood...was also brilliant! Thank you so much! Maybe we even come back tomorrow! Lovely place!More

Trattoria Il Vagone was a highlight of our 21 day trip through Italy and Croatia. Claudio the owner and the wait staff were very attentive and fun. The food was great, especially the Bruschetta. It is a great value especially since it is just a...few feet off the Grand Canal. We ate outside and it was a great place to watch the world go by. I can't recommend this restaurant enough - DaveMore

We absolutely loved our meal here. The food was so fantastic and the service was perfect. It is a off the main corridor and provided an intimate ambiance. The servers were attentive and offered suggestions to meet our preferences. The staff took pride in making...sure we were happy and we enjoyed our meal. This is a perfect option that will take you away from the crowds, making you feel like you are eating an authentic meal in a small italian neighborhood.More

Service is absolutely terrible! Guy comes out with an attitude for walking 10 feet to get another drink for us. Then we asked for napkins and he asked “why are we making him go back and forth?” I mean, what is going on here!! ???...Then, the absolute worst seafood we’ve had in all of Italy! You could smell the fish! Completely nasty! Overpriced! And little drink options. Rude obnoxious staff! Should be ashamed of themselves!More

Located away from the rush of people which is nice. Nice ambiance. Service- ok. Food- ok to good. Prices- reasonable. House red wine- good. From our group: Steak-good Lasagna- not the best Fettuccine-good not great Ravioli- very good Risotto- very good Bruschetta- eh Not sure...whether to recommend or not. If it’s your only meal in Venice, no. If you value price and ambiance, yes. I’d you want the best meal in Venice, maybe no.More
