Came here with a study abroad group and after trying the cuisines of Italy for the past 3 months, this place has been placed on my list of favorites! Great seafood and the staff were very friendly! I will definitely be returning! Grazie mille!

OurAirBNB host recommended this restaurant. It was a very cozy, comfortable place with interesting dishes and nice presentations. As noted by other reviewers, our waiter did push us to order a whole baked fish for all four of us. It was very good, but did cost somewhat more than what he said. ALso enjoyed sarde al soar very much (best... More

We found this small place on Tripadvisor and it was so lovely. You can eat plate full of ham with delicious foccacia and drink prosseco. Nice place.

Good fresh food. We visited early lunchtime on a Tuesday to several gondoliers coming in and out for lunch. A group of workmen enjoying a quick 3 meal. Buffet counter of mixed seafood and salads. Blackboard listing the ciccetti.. I had the local dish of fresh pasta of Bigoli con salsa, large spaghetti with cooked melted onion, anchovies and black... More

First of all, it´s an informal place with service charge, and the house wine was expensive compared with average price in Venice. We wanted to order very few, just some simple food to accompany the wine, and without consulting with us first, they served a big plate of mix portions, also too expensive for what it was. The worst came... More

We were recommended this restaurant by our hotel as a very good restaurant. Our meal started with the terrible house red wine, which was chilled cold. Then, one of our dishes was on the today's special, pasta with scallops. This dish did not taste that was made with fresh scallops, when Venice should have readily fresh seafood to serve. What... Great staff, great food, great atmosphere. Helpful and knowledgeable staff, explain the menu and wines. We called with no booking, yet the staff went out of there way to seat us and offered us free aperitif's whilst we waited. Food was outstanding as was the choice of local wines

Food was basic, lacked flavour, not made to order. Waiter tried to sell me an expensive bottle of wine and became annoyed when I didn't play nice. Lacked basic service skills. Food very overrated and seemed very 'fast food '

We were seated next to another not-local couple and immediately noticed their magnificent meal of mixed seafood -- several kinds of fish, both whole and fileted, prawns, polenta, and veggies -- all grilled and arranged beautifully on a large platter. What they were eating was listed as "grilled mixed seafood" on the menu at 40 euros and 5 euros extra... More

Stopped in and shared a bruschetta plate - yum! Fast and cheap place to grab a bite to eat and not touristy at all.

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
