Selection of wines is very attractive...the place strives to meet high standards but gnocchi were just good and value for money could be better...

Recommended by Cima Rosa, we found this place after another recommendation was closed. We weren't disappointed. We were warmly welcomed by the host who generously helped us with our basic Italian, and given an option of a couple of tables which were free (we were lucky - 15mins later it was full as there are only about 8 tables inside).... We loved this place so much we ate there twice on our last trip to Venice and did the same thing again this time. The food is excellent and the service and ambiance are superb. Put yourself in their hands and enjoy yourself.

We were lucky enough to get a table for dinner without a reservation. It's a small restaurant with only a few tables, fully packed with tourists. We ordered octopus salad, grilled shrimp and squid, roast beef, and tagliatelle with crab meat. Everything was good and perfectly done. Definitely give it a try if you are running out of dining options... More

After reading several reviews about this restaurant I decided on this place for our big splurge in Venice. We made reservations months in advance for a Saturday night dinner as this is a small restaurant and reservations are a must - reservations were for 7:30pm. We arrived 10 minutes late as we had some difficulty locating this restaurant. They had... More

We stumbled upon this restaurant around 8:30pm and were lucky enough to get a table without a reservation. The staff was incredibly welcoming. All other 7 tables were either locals and veteran Venetian travelers. I started with the clams and mussels, followed by the pumpkin gnocchi, and finished off with the most incredible tiramisu of all time. In a city... More

Yet another charming restaurant in Venice...we arrived there after being soaked in a heavy downpour, huddling under an unsuitably small umbrella! We were given the warmest of welcomes and handed some glasses of prosecco as we waited for our table...the evening went on... octopus, squid, fish carpaccio and other glorious dishes were consumed, and we ended up the last two... Two pesce crudo, a shared pasta, two fish courses, a bottle of very good white wine from a comprehensive list and mineral water for a very reasonable Euros155. Everything was excellent, the restaurant is very smal and needs to be booked.

We had a really lovely meal here with super, friendly service. I recommend that you book up early as we were in Venice in late November, relatively quiet and still we had to wait 2 days for a table. worth it though!

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
