This was the absolute best meal of our weekend in Venice. Found this place by reading reviews on here and was really looking forward to visiting. It was very close to our hotel which was another bonus.

You must visit here, the wine list is superb and so are the staff. The food was delicious, we had a meat and cheese board for two, plus a buffalo mozzarella side. The staff and atmosphere were fantastic. You must visit.
I had a desire to go here as soon as I read previous reviews on TA. We actually stumbled upon it by accident. Really nice feel to the Cantina with a warm welcome. We had a fantastic bottle or 2 of local un-filtered wine which...More
We were lucky to have found this small restaurant. If you blink you’ll miss it, so look for the smiling faces. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. Before we even had a table available they took our order, so by the time we sat down...More
Lovely food, lovely wine, great service!
Local beers on tap, local produce used for the food and all served by friendly knowledgeable staff. Would recommend the meat and cheese board with a glass of Valpolicella.
Excellent choice of wine by the glass, friendly knowledgeable staff that are happy to help you discover new wines based on your tastes. Also fantastic light platters of meats, cheeses, etc. It fills up quickly (even in January) so be sure to book a table...More
So pleased that other reviewers led us to choose this fantastic wine bar...great atmosphere, friendly welcome from knowledgeable staff with tasty and reasonably priced wine.......and the meat/cheese board - divine!! Definitely recommend booking as it’s only small, and you really wouldn’t want to miss out!

Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture
universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighbourhood identity.
