Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The tagliatelle was very nice but I wasn’t a big fan of the gnocchi or rice. The restaurant itself is very nice, small and cosy. Would be nice for a date night.

I love this restaurant! I have visited Verona multiple times and I never miss eating at Dogana Vecia as often as I can. Everything on the menu is fantastic and incredibly flavorful. You can simply close your eyes and point at the menu and you...won't be disappointed with what will be presented before you. This is a small family-run osteria in the old section of Verona, about 1 minute's walk from San Fermo and adjacent to the Verona Canoe Club. There are a few seats outside and a couple on the street, so you might consider making a reservation. Most tourists haven't discovered this, so it is very authentic and the owners speak little English, but are very friendly. Very reasonably priced and the food quality is excellent. This is a "do not miss" when visiting Verona.More

Traditional Italian cuisine. Incredibly tasty food. Menu is not extensive but the food is well cooked and very tasty.m. Neither the owner nor chef speak English/German, but Google Lens works well. If you want an authentic Italian dining experience in Verona, then this is it.

This is a very local place and there are not many reviews recently in English. The menu may seem to be limited. However the food is just excellent. At present try gnocchi. I’m pretty sure you will not be disappointed. Italian language is preferred here...thou.More

This tiny Osteria is amazing. Simple food of the region, beautifully cooked - amazing subtle flavours. Service helpful and friendly and the Valpolicella Amarone utterly amazing.

Wow, what a relief, after a week in the city, eating at various restaurants, including Michelin rated, this was the best, casual, friendly, home comfort meal. Nice wine, simple menu, well executed. And really liked the little pastry deserts. Great value. Certainly recommend.

I just had dinner here and it was amazing! Small menu (thank you google translate!) clearly created daily. I had trout which was served (off the bone) with creamy mashed potatoes, onions, capers and a touch of pepper. A real meal which is so hard...to find! And lovely service too!More

We found this place on a road running parallel to the river. Just a doorway with a small sign & menu. We decided to take a chance and we were very pleasantly surprised. We managed to order in pigeon English/Italian and had the meat risotto...with a glass of local wine. The wine was a tad sharp on first taste but we soon got a taste for it. The risotto was just the right amount and very tasty. I had a portion of chocolate salami for dessert and we thoroughly enjoyed this meal, far from the crowds.More

This is a popular local restaurant that serves food that is typical of the Verona area, and I think you would not find the dishes commonly on restaurant menus. We enjoyed asparagus risotto (perfect), baccala (very good) and a delicious pork dish with mushrooms. Service...was friendly and as helpful as could be expected when we have no Italian and they no English. Nevertheless, it worked well and we even were able to discuss and enjoy an excellent valpolicella. If I had a criticism, it would be that the servings were very very generous, and we really struggled to do justice to them.More

Very nice and helpful lady managing this restaurant. Authentic Italian food and reasonable prices. Not a tourist trap like so many restaurants in Verona. Italians eat there.

In a really rustic and typical setting, in a wooden room or in a barrel vault cellar, you are served typical dishes of Verona. Perfect for a longer than usual and relaxed lunch.

Small restaurant which we passed and decided to try. Decor is some what old and tired, but the menu looked inviting. However, we were somewhat disappointed with the food and service. One waitress in particular far too familiar and slow in bringing our wine, she...had to be reminded by one of the other staff members. My risotto really had no taste but came highly recommended. We paid 50 euros for 2 including wine and water. Not a place I would choose againMore

We are a young couple from London and we just got back from Verona. On our last evening in Verona, we were walking back to our hotel from Tomba di Giulieta, a seductive smell from a small cafe caught our attention. We stopped to have...a quick look at the short menu outside. The price looked great; almost half price comparing to other restaurants nearby that we had been to. The cafe looked very small, not busy but very cozy and friendly. We decided to have out last meal there. We had two glasses of red wine for 2 euros each (other places were 4 euros each!), and it was divine! for starter, we ordered a plate of different types of salami with butter beans. I remembered myself keeping saying uhmm mm ... Beautiful and delicious! We had two main courses: the first one was risotto with pork sausage, perfectly cooked, not too dry, not too saucy; the second one (bless my poor brain and Italian, I cannot remember the name of the dish, but don't worry I can describe it ;)) was cod fish in small pieces cooked in butter and garlic, with a special kind of cake made from smashed green beans mixed with salt pepper butter, then fried in small slices. Oh what a night. Lovely wine, amazing food. And we were the only two tourists there! Other customers were Italians, so we supposed it was a place for local. And guess how much we each payed in total for a glass of wine, one starter and two main courses? 20 euros! If you go to other restaurant, that's the price for one main course plus bottled water! We will defo go back for more!More
