Magnific experience! Excellent food, amazing service, unbelievable atmosphere. The raw clams cuttlefish mussels shrimps appetizer was out of this world. Surely coming back next time I am in Bari!

Ee looked in internet when place is open, day before hote phoned to as some thing. Then mon 06.11-24 we went there , in door was a paper saying they open 19.30 ! !. Closed. This should not be way to handle clients. Havent happen...in ItalyMore
It was a wonderful experience having lunch here! The food was excellent, and the service made us feel like royalty - we definitely recommend visiting this place when in Bari. George, our waiter, was a wonderful person who made these the best couple of hours...during our stay.More
Small family restaurant specialising in octopus. The sales spin is confusing, forget the menu! We were offered octopus cooked 5 different ways, but we’re not told portion size or price. Intrigued by it we agreed. The portions were large, the food excellent. The sting comes...with the bill: EUR75 just for the octopus experience plus whatever else you have ordered. We liked the food but lack of clarity about what you really order is a downside.More
Didn’t managed to eat there and I am glad we didn’t! I stopped to reserve a table for my family, and the person that greeted us was extremely rude, almost like offended that we want a table. He quickly passed us to another colleague that...said it is not possible to reserve a table; we wanted to come back in 20 min. After seeing how rude and completely lack of hospitality, we decided to skip this place! It would have ruined the atmosphere! Maybe good food, but for sure “zero” for guests welcoming and attitude!More
Avoid Basic rip-off for basic tourists. One entry served for 2 without telling you explicitly. They sell you the catch of the day and are ambiguous about the price (per person and not for two). However, the waiter (Nicola) knows how to make himself understood...when he wants to. Overcooked fish. In short, we were taken for a ride. The lure of profit at the expense of reputation - it’s a choice.More
Amazing seafood!!!! The pasta with a portion of redfish was truly delicious, including a bowl full of fragrant tomato broth.
I do not recommend.Terrible service. The manager is arrogant.Only clients with fat wallets are properly served. The food is good, but other restaurants are also good and the customers are respected.
My visit to "La Tana del Polpo" was an absolute nightmare. From start to finish, this experience was a culmination of inadequacy and arrogance. Before I could even consult with a waiter, I had to endure agonizing minutes of waiting. The service was slow and...seemed completely disinterested in the patrons. Despite ordering the house wine, which turned out to be the only thing not entirely ruined, my disappointment was palpable. However, what truly sealed the deal in ruining this experience was undoubtedly the owner's behavior. His arrogance and lack of respect for the customer were absolutely scandalous. Ordering appetizers proved to be impossible, as the owner saw every customer merely as walking money, disregarding our preferences. In summary, there is no chance I would recommend this place even to my worst enemy. What I experienced at "La Tana del Polpo" was not a restaurant; it was a comedy of errors. I caution anyone against this place - it's better to steer clear.More
Authentic restaurant in Bari. Very good food. We ate lobster pasta. Unfortunately service was very bad. Waitresses running around. When dessert served, the bill came immediately. Not good. Keep calm and relax
Lots of people are waiting for table around 10pm. You can ask takeaway food without table, I think that's the best option. The food is delicious, we had fried calamari, shrimp and octopus. We really enjoyed it. Also, I don't agree with others that I...would've been "forced" to order more expensive food. Definitely recommend.More
Looks can be deceiving, persuaded into ordering more expensive food which was rubbery, staff were rude and just wanted your money as quick as possible, got quite hostile as we left. Avoid this place.
We went for lunch. Presumptuous and careless staff (typical arrogant Barese), not suitable for serving customers: there was a lack of kindness that should distinguish waiters when they serve at the table (after all, it can also be seen from the answers they give to...negative reviews). Average food, nothing exceptional that makes it worth dining out.More
Amazing seafood!!! HUGE serving of the freshest raw shellfish, served beautifully. Grilled “pulpa”was delicious! Pasta with a portion of filleted redfish was so delish, including a bowl full of tomato scented broth. We also had a lovely dish of seafood pasta, with fish, shrimp, mussels,...clams, and calamari. Our server, Nico, was charming.More
Terrible service, terrible owner. They offer food that you don't want to eat. And when you want to order, they throw you out because you didn't order enough food.
