Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The food experience was great and the restaurant offers a variety of seafood including lobster. Everything is fresh bit the place is always busy so you need to wait to be seated. It is worthy though.

This establishment is located in a rather run-down area of fishermen's port along with a number of others, all specializing mostly in seafood dishes supposedly directly from the sea, although the menu mentions which specific ingredient comes frozen. That said, you can be sure to...enjoy expertly prepared ample seafood dishes. We had warm seafood salad and marinated octopus as starters, then two seafood risottos as primi, and finally two locally caught baked fishes for secondi. To put it concisely, a great finger-licking experience at reasonable prices. The communication in Lingua Franca (English) with the friendly waiters was somewhat difficult, but the final result was beyond our expectations.More

Eficient staff( looked a bit nervous though so I felt sorry for them). Pretty good Chardonnay. ( not as oaky as NZ Chardonnay as they don’t seem to barrel them in this area.) Our risottos were excellent. Get rid of the TV, bring in background...music and you’ll be on a winner!More

Worst experience we had in Italy. We were a little late due to a delayed tour but still unacceptable. Pasta was passable but underseasoned, everything I ordered was out, again fair enough as we were late, but I went with the waiters suggestion. Family's food...arrived, I waited a good 20 minutes and when I enquired where my food was I was told they were out of it. That was the pinnacle of the awful service but just generally awful. They turned off the a/c while we were in. Avoid like the plague, in fact the plague would be preferable.More

Although there were only two other tables of guests we waited more than 40 minutes for our first courses to arrive. The waiters were more interested in watching a game show on the rather annoying TV above our table and had mastered the art of...avoiding eye contact with guests. Having said that the food when it did arrive was excellent quality, well cooked and presented. The whole grilled fish which we had chosen from the display at the entrance was expertly deboned at the table. In summary excellent quality fresh seafood at very reasonable prices let down by indifferent service. A shame.More

Frech seafood well presented. The atmosphere in the restaurant is quite stiff and not cosy at all. Waiters are not friendly and very stiff. Food is really tasteful and well presented. Prices are quite cheap.

Our group of 5 people arrived hungry from our travels to experience a wonderful meal near the water. We selected our own fresh seafood from the back, they weighed it, grilled it fresh, salad and pasta...we were ready to travel the road again. It seats...large groups, family style, very nice! Thank you!More

Entering through the shop with its pleasing fish counter is an unusual way to go into a restaurant and the very light and airy dining room came as a welcome surprise. As I waited a few minutes for my wife I became excited by the...plates being delivered and those already being devoured. We eventually settled on the same as a couple of gentlemen at a nearby table. We had a large oval platter each with a small mountain of spaghetti in a superb tomato sauce. This was accompanied by third deep platter contains a mass of large prawns covered with a thick sticky slightly fishy tomato sauce. This is "Fork and Finger" country. Napkin tucked in the collar, cold white wine at the ready. I spoke to my wife only with the occasional grunt during the next 25-30 minutes. Absolute heaven. The griddled bread that came with the prawns was used to scrape up every last morsel. Unfortunately I didn't get back to try the amazing antipasti. I'll start and probably finish with that next time. A memorable lunch.More

The restaurant is situated in the fishing harbour of Taranto; it's fair to say the area has seen better days. Nonetheless the restaurant is a simple, relatively small place, but it has access to the most fantastic fish and shellfish. Regrettably we ordered cautiously in...the knowledge that if we went for the antipasti, we would never make it to the pasta and primi; we were proved absolutely right when we saw the antipasti being served to a family table next to us with the most exquisite selection of seafood salad, fritto misto etc I had linguine alla vongole, the Mrs had Bocatini con cozze - brilliant! Exactly what you'd hope for, but don't always get. We then had a small grilled dorade each - great raw materials cooked beautifully. Plus some really good Puglia Chardonnay. €90 inc service. Perfect. Go there.More

We visited this restaurant twice during our trip to Taranto. Local atmosphere, loud italian TV show on the wall, well prepared fresh seafood. OK service at a reasonable price. What more can you expect?

We ate there two nights. We asked for and got two things not on the menu, that our hotel person advised us to ask for. The first was a plate of mussels, cooked in a tasty broth with nice toasted bread to sop it up....We asked for the fruit of the mare spaghetti. All kinds of fish, all good. Two glasses of wine, and a 40 euro price. We waddled back to the hotel.More
