Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The pizza was ok, but we loved the dessert. The best Crema Catalana we ever had. We will order it every time we are there.

Despite we came there without reservation the staff tried and found a table for us. We've got a lucky 333 number and were happy. It took only 15 min to get food ready. Excellent and staff were really flying between tables with many people already...waiting for a meal. The Orata (Dorada) was really delicious one. Lasagna was also very good despite I've never tasted it before. At the end everything was great. Wine also.More

Visited this place with my family. Nice place and Nice staff. The food was good, but beware of small portions. Ordered local redwine, that was a nice experience. Good wine with long good taste.

We arrived at the hotel and were tired and hungry so decided to eat lunch here rather than search for another restaurant. We were so happy we stayed put. The food was delicious we had a mixed seafood antipasti and seafood mains. Everything was beautiful...and delicious the fregola with muscles and clams was perfect. We will return.thank-you.More

Wish we had found this place on the first night and not the last! Family of 8, so finding a restaurant with a bit of everything for everyone was hard, but this place had it all. Everyone loved their meals, and the views were lovely....Staff were friendly, and it had a nice family ran business feel. Most importantly, best cocktails I’ve had my whole holiday.More

This hotel is on the main road along the beach, and has pavements tables outside, but the interior garden section has a quieter atmosphere for a meal. Yes, you can get pizza and pasta, but this restaurant offers much more. My two seafood dishes were...good. The place is spacious, the staff are helpful and the prices are reasonable.More

Satisfying the different requirements of a group of 8 is always difficult but this place had something for everyone from fresh fish, steaks to pizzas. Service was excellent and very friendly. Do not understand the some of the negative reviews below about only speaking italian...as several of the waiters could speak good english and one had lived in England for some years and came and had a chat with us after the meal. The place does not look anything special from the outside but inside is an old church / monastery which has been tastefully and lovingly converted. Overall one the best evenings meals in Alghero - thank you.More

We ate there several times in Alghero and it became our favorite place. The food is delicious, and the staff very firendly. Stylish interior if you prefer to eat inside, but informal and nice outside. Definitively value for money.

It looks like a simple tourist trap from the outside but actually it’s a pretty nice place to eat. A very kind and fast service, correct pasta and outsanding pizza on a reasonable price. We were on the terrace where the ambience was great as...well. Recommended.More

We went here twice on successive nights with very different experience. Unusually I will include the exact dates of our visit in case the owners would like to check with their kitchen staff. Our first visit was at about 8:30pm on 15th September 2016. I...had the fillet steak with green pepper sauce and my wife had the king prawns. Our shared side dishes were mixed salad, potato and grilled vegetables. The grilled vegetables were aubergine, courgette and sweet peppers. Very pleasant, as were the other side dishes. I ordered my steak rare. It was an excellent, tender steak which was cooked perfectly. My wife's prawns were also very good although she found it a bit of a task removing them from their shells. We really enjoyed our meals. Service was friendly and efficient. The restaurant was quite close to our apartment and after such a good experience we decided to return the next night. On the 16th September we called in at about 7:30pm. Given my excellent experience with the fillet steak on the first visit we both decided to have that this time. The only difference was that I chose the cheese sauce and my wife ordered her steak well done. We had the same selection of shared side dishes as the previous night. Both steaks were awful. Full of fat and gristle. I could not even cut through it with a steak knife. This was definitely NOT fillet steak. We pointed out the problem to the waiter who apologised and said he would pass our complaint to the chef. He returned and said again that he was sorry, but the chef insisted it was fillet steak. The chef suggested that it may have been tougher because the steak was well done. This was complete nonsense. My steak was cooked rare and it was largely inedible. I have eaten in thousands of restaurants over five decades so I know what I am eating. On this occasion we had been served a low quality cut of meat. It is not possible for an experienced chef to have served such meat without knowing that it was sub-standard. To be fair to the serving staff, they were very apologetic and a small reduction was made to our bill, but the meal and the evening were ruined. With the meals we had a beer and a glass of wine plus a couple of cocktails. The bill on the first evening was 66 euros which was very reasonable. The second night with very similar meals and drinks the bill totalled a fraction under 70 euros which was reduced to 65. Serving staff were good on both visits and this restaurant is a nice environment. On the first evening I would have rated them at five. They would only have got one for the second experience. This place could be successful. I hope that the owners deal with their kitchen trying to pass off sub-standard food. Behaviour like this could easily destroy a restaurant.More

After travelling North for the day & struggling to find parking in Alghero this was the first place we came across. The menu looked appealing & we were spoken to by a lady on the front. We asked for seating inside as the road was...busy. We were amazed at the size of the place, a sort of tunnel seating area which leads to a piazza with seating outside, beautiful. All the staff greeted us with smiles & buonasera. Fantastic choice of food. We opted for the seafood risotto to start & it was full of seafood! I asked about the grilled fish & the waitress showed me to the fresh fish on display in the fridge, I could choose my own! Cooked to perfection & filleted at the table. The grilled steak was thick but cooked as requested. Patate al forno lovely as were the grilled vegetables. The house white wine was crisp & dry, nice drop of vino. We were quite full but had to have the tiramisù, fantastic! I indulged & had Irish coffee, made with real cream! Unusual for Italy it's usually spray cream. Food was excellent here, service a little slow but there only seemed to be one waitress who took orders, Roberta I think, the rest took drinks orders or brought food. I speak very little italian & it wasn't a problem for any of them. The owners were present throughout, we discovered that the lady who greeted us at the front was one of them. They asked us if we enjoyed our meal & if everything was ok, lovely touch.More

We ate here on our first night & loved it. The waiters were really friendly & helpful. We were a little unsure of which wine to order & our waiter said that the capocaccia red was a good choice. It certainly was. It was a...lovely addition to our meal. The food itself was typical Italian/Sardinian & very good quality. We ate pizza & pasta on our first night (as is our tradition, because if they can't get either right, we don't go back). Well, suffice to say we went back a couple more times during our stay. We sat outside at the front each time & thought that the restaurant was quite a small place. Well, when I went to use the toilets, I was blown away by the size of the place & the gorgeous décor! Plus, they had a central courtyard which was full of people. We hadn't noticed that there was an entrance to the side of where we were sat. It was very busy each time we visited. Also on every occasion, we noticed that later in the evening there was a very smart looking mature lady stood at the door welcoming customers. That was a lovely touch. She also spoke to us as we left each evening, asking us if we enjoyed our meal & then wishing us a good evening. I replied in my very broken Italian, to which she smiled & seemed to understand what I'd said (the Italian lessons I took years ago weren't a waste of time then..ha, ha!!). We holiday in Italy each year & this was our first trip to the beautiful island of Sardinia. Based on this experience on our first night, it won't be our last. On a final note, dessert wise, we only tried 1. The catalan crème.....gorgeous!!More
