This restaurant was recommended by our host, when we were in Alghero. The waiter is very nice, but does not speak english very well, so it is difficult to understand the offer and menu in italian, but kitchen was very tasty and in good quality

Great food and great service. One of the best cozze marinara after 10 years of travels to Italy. Well worth a visit in Alghero.

Nice restaurant with a good atmosphere. Food was good, service ditto. But we were not offered prosecco after being seated, as all the other diners were and they made a mistake with the bill as well, which was eventually corrected when we paid. We shared...More

Marco Polo was recommended to us by our Airbnb host. As were other restaurants. Marco Polo blew the others away. It was so far superior is was not even a close contest. The food was *exceptional*. And the service was brilliant. Andrea (spell?) was an...More

We were barely attended to all night despite the restaurant not being busy. It took half an hour to get a glass of wine, despite reminding them when we were able to call them over. It took so long for them ever to do anything...More

Description
Situated close to the "Marco Polo" ramparts, from which the restaurant is named, is one of the most beautiful and characteristic of the old center of Alghero. The recent restoration work, completed in 2003, has made these ramparts a totally pedestrian area, intensely promoting the recycling of a wonderful area dedicated to families and couples who like walking and enjoying the landscape on the Gulf of Alghero. The "trattoria"restaurant, structured with natural stone, typical of the old town, provides a refined and elegant scenery where having a rest in the flavours of the dishes, especially the traditional fishermen ones, combined with a friendly competence and courtesy, and a wine list from the best Sardinian wineries. House specialities are piercing scents of the sea, which become a precious combination of tradition and innovation, inspired by the flavours of traditional Mediterranean cuisine enhanced by a fresh, light and refined preparation, composed of a careful selection of raw materials of the highest quality. Closed sunday evening and monday
