Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We've traveled across the world, and this is definitely one of the best restaurants we've ever eaten at. We recently spent four days in Palermo and ate at several highly rated restaurants, but this turned out to be our absolute favorite, so much so that...on our last day, we canceled our reservation at a different restaurant so we could eat here again! On our first visit we ordered the busiate con broccoli arriminate, a traditional Palermitan pasta dish; this version was vegan and contained raisins and almonds. It was so delicious we ended up buying the pasta, raisins, and almonds (the restaurant is also a shop) so we could try making it ourselves; we also ordered it again on our second visit (their menu changes every day, but they happened to have this pasta both times)! We also loved their bean soup, which was particularly fragrant. Our main dish, the duck breast with orange marmalade, was perfectly cooked and seasoned, and came with an amazing side of saffron mashed potatoes. On our second visit, in addition to the busiate, we tried the casarecce with ricotta, mandarin orange marmalade, and black cabbage, an incredibly interesting combination of ingredients. In addition, we ordered the porchetta with butternut squash puree; the porchetta was tender and fragrant and the combination of flavors was truly exquisite. This restaurant also has the best freshly squeezed orange juice we've ever had--and if you're lucky, you might get a glass of blood orange juice instead (apparently, they look very similar from the outside, so they don't always know which one they're getting). If we lived in Palermo, we'd be eating here every week, but as it is, we'll be back on our next visit!More

Do not miss their duck tagliatelle or orange cake! As a bonus, the owner and staff are lovely and incredibly welcoming. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in town.

High-quality regional products. The menu changes regularly. Service was excellent. I can highly recommend it. Dinner with a platter of appetisers, main courses, dessert and a bottle of wine and water was ca. 100 euro for 2.

I had a simple lentil soup. It was delicious. Simple, but full of flavour. I have a glass of merlot from the Madonie region and it was lovely. It looks small, but there is a spacious upstairs. A real treat considering every other meal has...been mediocre at best. The menu changes daily due to produce they get in from Madonie region.More

Nice lunch at Madonie for Eat. Menu changes daily. Had a variety of appetizers and primo’s, and desserts all good. It’s also a gourmet food store that ships. Nice wine list. Attentive staff. The place looks small and more of a shop from the street...but there’s also an upstairs as well as the tables downstairs and you can dine outside.More

Holy Moly! This place absolutely blew us away. Recommended by a local who raved about it, we actually passed by this unassuming restaurant a couple of times, not knowing the culinary delights that awaited us. At first glance this place looks almost like a cafeteria,...with just 3 brightly colored tables inside and a wall of Italian goods for purchase. Imagine our surprise when this turned out to be the best meal we ate (including at a Michelin star restaurant) on our week+ long trip through a variety of cities in Sicily. With a menu that changes twice a day, and every day based on what comes in fresh, this small restaurant packs a big punch and the wait staff were helpful and friendly and accommodating. Thank you, AJ, for the fun conversation and walk down memory lane. Go here if you are in Palermo. Run!More

They cook whatever is freshest from the market each day. We just asked what to order— 2 appetizers (mushrooms and a buffalo mozzarella salad) and one first course and one second course both to share. The tagliatelle ragu was pefection and the Sicilian pumpkin stew...was amazing. They talked us into sharing a cannoli for dessert— I’m so glad we tried it even though we thought we were too full. The ricotta filling was superb. As I said, just let them order for you!More

We were very pleased to find this restaurant in Palermo. Great food, friendly service. Some staff can speak English. The restaurant specialises in food from the Madoni area of Sicily. We ate there three times during our stay in Palermo. We can recommend the veal...meatballs, Mediterranean couscous, vegetarian lasagne, baked pasa. The cakes that we had for dessert were delicious.More
