Dishes were tasty, one side dish was forgotten. No apology. My husband is a coeliac and we were assured it would be no problem, however a very supercilious waiter made no attempt to ask the chef what desserts he could it. Generally service was grudging...More

Had lunch today.Menu looked modern and imaginative. Husband had a pork fish, I had fried mini pizzettes. We also had a dish of grilled vegetables. The pork was very tender, however it was all the cold side of tepid. The vegs looked tired and shrivelled....More

The food here is brilliant, inventive and with decent portions. They also were very helpful looking after my disabled mother. We were all very grateful to them and will be coming again!

This restaurant is at the old part of the city. After walking around the old buildings, warm atmosphere of this restaurant attracted us. We've chosen so called "street food" from the menu. Service was good and fast. Food was avarage, obviously this is not a...More

Pleasant setting but food and service very average for price charged. The seafood starter was good but €20, street food starter bland and mains generally mediocre, sorry but wasn’t impressed especially as it was recommended by local hostMore

our prices are in relation to the quality we give to our customers. Our street food is one of the best in the city according to the main guides and if a local guest has recommended us, perhaps it is because he knows the restaurant...More

Ballaro is an overlook on the soul of Sicily, a lively land and plenty of opportunities where you can create economy enhancing culture, images, smells, tastes and sounds. Osteria Ballaro contains these elements, a real market within the charming atmosphere of Palazzo Cattolica's stables. Our dishes value the simplicity as well as the wealth of Palermo and Sicily. We only use seasonal products, strictly at 0 km, starting from fish, to prepare recipes for every day menu. You can also combine the "street food" (from stigghiola to pani ca meusa, from pane cunzato to quarume), or a slow food platter of cheeses and cold cuts made in Sicily, with wines from our winecellar. For "traditionalists" who like "manciari in menzu strata" (eating in the middle of the road), we have set up a take-away outside.
