Walking by we dropped in on a Monday night out of season, was pretty quiet so had low expectations. However the food was excellent! The staff were friendly and helpful, young owner sat down and had a drink with me after paying. His brother the...chef clearly talented! Only reason not a 5 star, the ambiance was a little off. Lighting was very bright and could do with some candle light etc. maybe something to soften the decor. The views are absolutely to die for though!More

We were staying in Mazzaro Bay, Taormina for 2 weeks. There were a range of restaurants but we visited Da Giovanni's 3 times as we were really impressed with the food. I loved the swordfish and the mixed salads were excellent. They also offered house...wine in 1/4, 1/2 and litre quantities. This was good quality and much nicer than the other restaurants where bottles started from 26 euros. The staff were very friendly and efficient and the atmosphere was great with tables overlooking Isola Bella island and bay.More

Had an absolutely delightful lunch here after visiting Isola Bella, although we did struggle to find it due to the tripadvisor map showing a different location. We arrived early for lunch and had our pick of the tables overlooking the bay, it soon filled up...and we were glad to have got a prime seat. The food was excellent, simple fish dishes, smoked fish starter, grilled swordfish and fried shrip and squid for main, accompanied with a salad and house wine. Everything was great, and priced in-line with similar local restaurants, but with an amazing view. Highly recommended, just make sure you use Google maps rather than tripadvisor to save yourself being led in the wrong direction!More

Sadly, disappointing. Not sure about Michelen star reviews? After looking forward to what was billed as a great little find, I’m sorry to say it was anything but. The food overall was very salty and lacking in both flavour and appearance. They say you eat...with your eyes! I’ve got to say one of the waiting staff was very pleasant (the older lady), but the other member of the waiting staff (a dark haired lady with tattoos) unfortunately wasn’t. So what’s wrong you ask: The bread was almost stale. All the courses were very salty. We were quietly observing the waiting staff and were quietly discussing how much the tattooed waitress must love her job by thumping plates down and generally mooching about with a scowl, when I turned to my wife (not noticing my plate been scooped up) I had finished my pasta but I was in mid stream mopping up😀. I had bread in my hand for god sake😀 Lastly the lighting could have done with been subdued😀 it was as bright as an operating theatre. Overall not a place I would recommend.More

The spot is great for lunch, with a gorgeous view of Isola Bella. The food was sublime. The secret here is in the simple makeup of every dish, served up with finest quality ingredients, with layers of taste. From antipasti of mussels, clams, oysters in...amazing sauce, to really great plates of pasta (my spaghetti bottarga was out of this world). The sweets round it up perfectly. If you are in Taormina, this place is a must for lunch. Not pretentious at all, and not a tourist trap like so many other spots in the town. It was my second time here. I will be coming back. Also, the Signora serving us was really helpful and knowledgeable. Perfect service with a genuine smile.More

Brilliant restaurant, excellent food, in fact the best food i've had in my two week trip. The eggplant was so brilliantly cooked, perfect consistency. Vegetarian food is a joke in most restaurants in Italy, here it was otherwise. And the ladies working here are so...calm and plesant on the nerves. I regret not eating here earlier. A friend recommended Gambero Torso in the city above, it was a mistake. The atmosphere here is soothing, nothing of the rushed service and panicking staff in the city above. If I travel again to Taormina, I would definitely eat here. Some more vegetarian dishes would be good!More

Really nice restaurant with good food and the most iconic panoramic view over Isola Bella. Considering the Michelin guide mentions, we were perhaps a bit disappointed over the food but only due to very highly expectations. The service also seems a bit impersonal.

This whole place breaths old-school, but it works Sure, it's not fine dining, sure it's not the best, but it's been around for decades, and it it not bad at all, quite good actually. The fish is fresh, the portions are grande, what is lacking.......speed, everything takes somewhat long, maybe they still have the same chef since they started in the 1970s?! Anyhow, we enjoyed it & warmly recommend a visit!More

We went to Giovanni’s when it was bucketing down with rain in Taormina-Mazzaro and the restaurant was lovely. The reviews were clear and the food was lovely. I really enjoyed the Macchereni alla Norma as it’s a classic and lovely. The wine was okay, the...desserts were lovely but the view was also really nice. All in all, a decent valued meal in Taormina in general.More

This is a fish restaurant with a nice selection of dishes. Prices are quite reasonable and the staff if very friendly. We sat on the lower terrace at the table next to the railing and the view was amazing.

Went here on my second night in Taormina at the recommendation of our hotel concierge. View is stunning and almost worth the visit alone. Truly one of the best views I’ve ever eaten at. Food was good. It’s best described as rustic Sicilian. Quality was...excellent and was served by friendly waitresses. It wasn’t the most ornate but was delicious. So overall the food was good, view was amazing but most surprising was it wasn’t that expensive (well compared to some other places I went to). So overall it gets a 5 star review. A great honest place with a stunning view.More

We went here for lunch without booking a table, but were lucky to get a table. The restaurant looks very nice and has a stunning view to Isola Bella. We ordered a spaghetti with shrimps, mixed fried fish and some side dishes and it all...both looked and tasted very good. The service was excellent and pricing was moderate. Loved it!More
