Ate and drank at Bar 500 many times during our stay in Cortona. Emma and Mbecka were the perfect hosts!

We were told about this restaurant by one of the local hotels nearby & had a really good lunch here. The owner is so genuine & friendly, we had the wild boar tagliatelle & ribollita soup, both were excellent as was the red wine they recommended!

Emma , Robert and Mbecka make all feel so welcome! Stayed in Cortona for 3 weeks and immediately felt "at home" at Bar 500. Great spot for drinks, great cappuccino, sandwiches and salads--the best Bruschetta we had anywhere! Don't forget the soups!! People watching at its best. The warmness and recognition when even just passing by makes this place so... More

We ate at Bar 500 our first night in Cortona because it was close to where we were staying. We had small meals, salad and vegetable soup and both were surprisingly good for an outdoor place in the middle of the tourist area. My wife had a cheese/past dish which she loved but I can't recall the name of it,... More

After wandering around all morning in Cortona we decided to pick a restaurant for lunch and came upon Bar 500 which is right on the main street. The food was excellent with good foccacia and very good salads. The service was excellent and I always appreciate it when the owner stops by to make sure everything is fine, which was... More

There is so much good food in Italy that when something is off the mark, it really sticks out. I had pasta with meat sauce that tasted like it had been reheated in the microwave. Also had a salad which was plain and blah.

Rob and Emma are more than our favorite restaurant owners in Cortona, they are like our Italian family. The food is second to none! Love the food, the place and the staff! If you visit Cortona, this is a must visit!!!

Good location in town. The service was excellent but the food was average for the area. We had a salad, pizza and wine.

Went to Bar500 on a trip to Cortona, very kind people and a nice place is Bar 500 in a sidestreet of Cortona. Had a genius pasta dish that I will always remember. The combination was fantastic. Ravioli with orange and salmon filled with ricotta. Only this dish is reason to check Bar500 out. You don't expect to get this... More

We ate lunch here and loved it. It's a very popular place, with outside tables on the busiest street in Cortona, so great for people watching. The service is quick and friendly. although you are not rushed. We shared a mixed salad and a pizza with black truffle, which was just about perfect. Thin crispy crust, and full of tasty... More
