Away from the Duomo, literally! That's where you'd find this fine eatery in home style Florentine cooking. We stopped for lunch and were not disappointed. Simple pasta de la casa with sausage and tomato, stewed trippa (tripe) and soup with farro and chickpeas, and of course, messo litre of vino rosso. We're happy as a vongole, next time perhaps!

Pasta is already cooked and then heated in microwave, salad is already prepared not fresh. The place is really small and you ended up sitting in front of the owner who is kind of weird.

Rick Steves recommend this place in his guidebook of Florence, so we went there for lunch. It was amazing! We were extremely happy with the food and the service. We ordered a pork dish and also a pasta dish and a liter of the house wine. It was the best wine during our entire trip to Italy. Owners, Alessio de... More

I have lived in Florence for 10 years. I went to this "Florentine historical institution" for the first time in a while to grab a quick cheap lunch. I got a coca cola, two half portions of a primo, and sat down at a table with my friend who got a bottle of water. The food was fine, though the... More

I ate here whilst on a day trip to Florence - I can't remember how I found this place, but it is a little hold-in-the-wall with just a few tables. I had a pasta dish and glass of wine and it was very inexpensive. Free of tourists and in a prime location - I highly recommend it.

We saw positive reviews on two sites and decided to stop in. The food had decent flavor. The staff was friendly and explained everything well. Meals were very reasonably priced. But at the end of the day, it was pasta reheated in a microwave. Quaint location. But I believe there is better food close by if you keep looking.

If you're looking for real Italian food this is the place to come. The owner is is lovely and explained all the history of the store, and even gave me specialties to try a sample of. Amazing price for quality of service and food. Dont forget to go for lunch, or make a reservation for dinner. Delicious!

This place is kind of tucked away but we loved the experience. The space is tiny and the diners sit very close to one another, but the advantage is you can see what everyone else is eating with gusto. There are just a few things to choose from on the menu board but the food is made with great care.... More

Went twice on a recent visit and the food is always buono. Communal eating in this tiny place. Blink walking by it and you'll miss it. Prices are very reasonable and the service is friendly but almost non existent.

If you're looking for a very small osteria for a genuine florentine experience look no further. I am personally from Florence and this summer I've visited this place and got to know that they're active since the early 1900! Very old and not so well known as it should.

San Marco
The pleasant atmosphere of this residential area, a stone’s throw away from the Duomo of Florence, surprises everyone. Home to several universities, including the Academy of Fine Arts, San Marco is one of the most vibrant cultural centers in the city. A bridge connecting the modern cultural activity of Florence to its classic art, represented by the everlasting magnificence of the original David, resonates as a symbol of Florence and of Italy as a whole. Get lost in a Neoclassic world, a journey back in time through historic buildings like Spedale degli Innocenti (Hospital of the Innocents), San Marco church, Basilica della Santissima Annunziata, and natural jewels like the Botanical Gardens.
