We came in with very high expectations. The meat was good, service was excellent. It is not a romantic place for couples do dine together. Many single dinners where there with us, sharing the tables. But the atmosphere is great, meat was very good. Especially...More

My sister ate in the restaurant 40 years ago while traveling Italy, she told me about it back then. 10 years ago we ate there for the first time and 2 weeks ago the whole family ate there....including my sister. She brought a picture with...More

Il Latini was highly recommended by both a U.S. friend (winemaker) and our local host. We had a marvelous waiter, very friendly, clearly loves his job. The menu has a wide selection of roasted meats, served in generous portions, and gluten-free. There are no salads...More

We were so excited to be going to Il Latini. There was a huge crowd outside at 7.30 pm when they open and we were happy to have reservations. I usually judge a restaurant by the bread. This was stale. It's like a cheap buffet...More

While this spot was slightly difficult to find, we very much enjoyed this as our first lunch in Florence. The menu is what you expect for the region with fantastic steak, vegetable soups, and table wine already waiting for you upon your arrival. This location...More

Went to Il Latini one night on our honeymoon, referred by a local. It was incredible! Dined late, as Italians do, and had such a kind waiter. We ended up with great food, some complimentary drinks, and so much hospitality. I think we were the...More

A good place to experience an old fashion way of eating in Italy, going on from my grandparent's time till now, just with small differencies . Quite small choice of strictly vegeterian dishes, pork ham hanging from the ceiling, much better if you are flexible...More

Once we eventually found this restaurant it was worth the search. We shared the Tuscan meats for an appetiser which were the best we had in Florence. Then we shared the pasta with white pork which was delicious. Main courses were speciality sausage and beans...More

People seem to like this place. We thought it was awful. One "dish" was a massive hunk of pork with a thin sauce of no flavour. Vegetables must be separately ordered. A vegetable flan was good. Fried vegs were bland and remained largely uneaten. Big...More

Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by
an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city.
The historic center is characterized by the immensity
of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the
brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does
not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni
Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is
enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city

Around the tables of "Il Latini" friendships are interwoven, all the world's languages are spoken, fervent discussions are held and everyone tastes food that has the flavour of the old times past. Il Latini means tradition: a means of discovering Tuscany and its people. The kitchen is where the best products of Tuscany's countryside are turned into the dishes typical of the tuscan tradition. Il Latini's kitchen was originally the kitchen of Narciso's wife, who used to take the dishes from her home to the cellars in Palazzo Rucellai where tables were set. Sora Maria's cooking was made of ingredients and flavours typical of tuscan cuisine, simple and genuine food that nowadays are still a characteristic of the restaurant. The flood in Florence did not spare the tavern, which continued nevertheless to serve warm dishes Florentine citizens among the muddy streets.
