We first tried Pepo in 2007 and loved it enough to go back on our next trip to Florence. We were a group of five family women from three generations, in Florence for 3-4 days. We all voted to go here a second night, it was so enjoyable. Recommend reservations, as it's always crowded and we saw many people turned... More

We dined early here one evening while it was quite empty. The two of us had simple pastas and a shared side dish plus coffees. Food was reasonable, prices were very reasonable, all up 30 euros. Service was rather slow and not particularly friendly.

Informal and fun--just good food and good times!! Walkable to the Mercato Centrale. Small and very busy but well worth it

Osteria looked very popular with locals, that why we decided to reserve a table for a quick dinner. The experience was solid. Though it did not provide any thrills, the food was of good quality with a selection of vegetarian and meats dishes. Main dish prices are regularly priced, 8-10€, however the house wine is 10€ which seemed a bit... More

Last night we dined at Osteria Pepò. We tried the pasta de giorno which was cheese and spinach in a butter sauce and the more traditional spaghetti. Both entrees were delicious. The spaghetti had lots of fresh tomatoes and a nice garlicy flavor. We picked this restaurant because it was very full and although we had no reservation, they were... More

This little osteria was close to our accomodation as many other restaurants. We chose this one and we decided to patiently wait outside in the night late December cold because of the menu choices and the reasonable prices. They even offered us a glass of wine while we were waiting outside! Unfortunately they ran out of vongole but the alternative... More

Please do not be afraid of the first view. It is a classic restaurant in Florence. I really recommended to visit Osteria Pepo. My favorite choice was Steak Florentino.

After arriving from Rome we decided to grab a late lunch. We walked around a bit checking out several menus at various restaurants. Osterio Pepo's menu offered specials of the day and we decided to try some. We had the meatballs with pasta, the ravioli of the day and the tripe. Needless to say, nothing was left on our plates... Linen tablecloths and serviettes. That usually says expensive as do the cotton towels in the bathrooms, But it's no more expensive than the place next door where they queue up to eat on shared tables. The only people speaking Italian were the waiting staff which would also normally ring an alarm but no, the food was excellent as was kitschy... More
