Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This restaurant is a bit off the beaten path, although near the train station. Contrary to what some reviewers said, I had the impression that many of the guests were Italian--although they may have been Italian tourists. They offered a prix fixe menu with 3...courses at a really decent price. But no paper menus--you had to scan a QR code with your phone, and I had real trouble getting on the internet until someone showed me that the restaurant offers free wifi. This offered the best value for money of any place I ate in Florence.More

We sought this place out based on a recommendation by Rick Steve’s. We are very mindful and respectful guests in a host country. We do our best to speak a little of the language. From the moment we entered and were pointed to a table,...we were mostly ignored. Our waiter chatted amiably to the Italian speaking diners, but after 20 minutes we finally waved a hand to get his attention. He grudgingly took an order, never gave us a chance to ask a question before walking off and only returning to plop down a dish a disappear again. We ordered the menu of the day. Our food was lackluster and looked nothing like the pictures in the digital menu. He continued to avoid contact with us even when trying to just pay the bill to get out. After 3 weeks all over Italy this was our only negative and disturbing encounter. I have no idea what we did to elicit such a hostile and rude response, but we recommend against eating there when there are so many wonderful choices in this magical city.More

This may be the oldest review ever... The app forced me to pick a date in the past year so I did. So I'm cleaning out a desk and ran across a photo, yes a printed photo, from a vacation in 2008. The pic was...the entrance to this restaurant. I took the pic because we had such a wonderful meal there. It was too long ago to remember what we ate, but looking at their menu and based on our normal preferences, my wife got the seafood pasta appetizer as her meal, and I got either the rabbit or the pork, probably the rabbit. Anyway, this probably won't help anyone today, but I do remember this restaurant very fondly and maybe, just maybe, you might make memories there too.More

Fabulous restaurant. Off the beaten path in a “real” neighborhood. Outstanding food. Great value. Probably a good idea to get a reservation.

We enjoyed our dinner at this restaurant. The setting and decors were fun, the atmosphere was great and the servers were very friendly and entertaining. They had a special: for £20, you got two courses, a side, plus wine and water. The pasta course was...tasty and filling, and the meat course was a generous helping of stew. We enjoyed it, but could not finish it all.More

Not terrible, but completely catering for tourists. If you prefer authentic, where the locals eat, then this isn’t for you. Waiters are indifferent, verging on rude. Loud music. Pasta does not feel homemade. The brodo neither. Price is steep for what you get.

Top list of places to NOT go. Terrible and rude staff. They charged us 30 euros (price of full menu) for a plate with 7 tortellini. I had to go to a supermarket and buy a sandwich.

3 minutes from the train station. £40 for two. 2 courses, a side, plus wine, plus water. Pasta course was filling, and the meat course was a fair portion of stewing steak. Would eat here again if we stayed longer. We went in around 7pm,...by the time we came out there was a queue. Every night we walked past there was a queue. For good reason.More

We had dinner here based on all the reviews but the reviews were not reliable. It was the worst food we had in Italy. The steak was fatty and very tough. It was inedible. The service was subpar.

After reading all the reviews, we were really looking forward to visiting this place. We were underwhelmed by the poor service and the quality of the food. Our starters didn’t arrive, so we had to chase them, no glasses given for the wine. The waiting...staff were unfriendly. The food itself was mixed, the beef stew was by far the best, but the veal was tasteless. Great value for money, but we left feeling disappointed.More

We visited twice during our week in Florence. Dinner set menu €20 for wine, water, bread, starter, main and side. Excellent value for money and friendly staff. Menu changed between visits. Best quality food we ate in Florence with great flavours. Gnocchi best I’ve ever...had! Get there early as very popular. Definitely recommend. Not a dining experience as such as service quick but an enjoyable meal!More

This is a fun neighborhood restaurant, not just for tourists. The food is reasonably priced, delicious and represents the local cuisine. In addition, it is close to Santa Maria Novella train station. Locals eat late, so if you arrive close to the time they open,...you have a better chance of being seated without waiting.More
