My friends and I chose this place because of its proximity to the Pitti Palace. By mid-meal, we were all eager to leave and find another restaurant for lunch. The pasta was overcooked (what restaurant in ITALY serves mushy pasta??), all the dishes were terribly salty, and the octopus had a pungent fishy smell, indicating it was not fresh. Maybe... More

We ended up in this restaurant, while we were actually planning to go somewhere else. Staff is very friendly, helpful, explains dishes and speaks English. The atmosphere is the restaurant is nice, and quality of the food is okay, not really special. Prices are unfortunately a bit on the high side. Price-quality is therefore the reason to give a rating... More

Located right across from the Palazzo Pitti, the Caffe Pitti is a great choice for lunch either before or after your tour through the Palazzo and the associated Boboli Gardens. The food is good with the caprese salad a superb choice with large ripe tomato slices and excellent mozzarella cheese. Decent menu choices and the service is fair. Not the... More

I don't expect to see staff talking about other customers and probably should have taken that as a sign before I ordered food and just left. Food was average and as we only wanted something simple, I suppose the looks of distain can only be expected. I imagine as I never left a tip, we were probably talked about too... More

Good but not great food or service. Had spaghetti that was ok but nothing better than I have ever made at home. It is on a street with frequent motor, bicycle, and foot traffic as well which was not overly pleasant either.

We visited here for lunch before visiting the Boboli gardens. The location is great and the spray air con was welcome. For a prime location it had a good view of the palace, but the set menu was limited and the food itself was average. Tasty good Italian fare, but nothing special and slightly more pricey for a what it... More

After a long day traveling from the US to Florence, we had a delicious light dinner sitting immediately across from the Pitti Palace. We originally planned to only have a drink there but the drinks were so good, the waiter was so nice, the view was so beautiful and we were so tired that we decided to have a light... More

We came here by recommendation however it was nothing amazing. It is quite expensive and not worth it at all.

Staying in Pitti

Neighbourhood Profile
Pitti is a neighborhood characterized by art and history. Renaissance architecture such as Pitti Palace, which houses five museums alone, introduces visitors to the green lungs of spectacular Boboli Gardens. Any visitor can wander through statues, fountains, and panoramic viewpoints. Around the garden, treasures like the Museum of Natural History of the Specola and Villa Bardini guide guests through Florence as the cradle of the Renaissance. End the day with an aperitif in Piazza della Passera or the more romantic Forte di Belvedere, which offers an amazing panoramic view of the entire city.
