Can't comment on the food as we didn't get as far as ordering. We were looking for a restaurant near the hotel so thought we would try this one. Only a couple of customers and no staff around when we went in. Stood for a bit and then a rather apathetic waitress arrived and gestured to a table. She disappeared... More

My friend and I had a late dinner, service was good, and we enjoyed the ambience. Service was a little slow. I had past and requested a plain tomato/basil which was not on the menu but served. It was excellent, pasta was perfect. My friend had a pasta dish but I do not remember what it was. The selection of... More

I had two recent dining experiences at Il Boccale and both were positive. The food is tasty and simple and quite good value. Definitely one to return to.

Local fare in a rustic setting. Sit back and enjoy the lowlight ambience. Nothing happens fast in Italy and let's face it there is only one server and you are on holiday...?! Fab food, we came back twice, house wine good and you get the chance to sample the ossobucco special...take it, was slow cooked heaven. Authentic food that won't... More

The service was very good and so was the food. I had the sausage and bean dinner and my wife had had the seafood pasta. We shared the mussel soup. Everything was really very good.

My husband and I discovered this charming place on a quiet side street in Florence (Firenze). We were on our honeymoon and the romantic lanterns drew us in to check out the menu. The selection looked good and the prices were reasonable so we decided to try it out. We were delighted by the tasty meals and wine! The server... More

After an early start to the day from Venice we trekked our luggage thru the vapporetto, 3 train stations and up a walk only Firenze road and then 98 steps up to our apartment.. We were tired. This place was directly across from our apartment. Service is deliberate.. But is there. Food is rustic but very tasty. €7 for large... More

Not sure why this place has so many poor reviews. I was worried after seeing only a 3 star rating but most of those 1 star reviews were from over a year ago. Our food was great. Service was what you would expect from a busy Italian restaurant with 1 server. If you stop in here you won't be dissapointed.

I came at this restaurant with my wife for our 20th years marriage anniversary. It was all I had expected from a small italian restaurant: specific local atmosphere, local design ambient, friendly staff, good food, fully booked. I reccomend it!

Stopped by for lunch and to get the weight off my feet. Food was OK to good. The place itself was nice; dark but atmospheric. I felt, however, that the staff, although fairly efficient, didn't really care: get them fed and out the door.
