Convenient location near to the station. Great local steaks. We had a massive 1.2kg "T" bone, between us. It was tasty. Local red chianti. 3 courses before 6pm for a 20% discount More

I would like to give a big shout out to our very friendly waiter Marco. Thank you for the great service. The t-bone florentine steak were the best steak I've ever tasted and every food that was served to us were delicious! Thank you for the complimentary wine and for the limoncello shots. I would highly recommended this restaurant.

Our waiter, Marco, was wonderful. He took great care of us and made perfect recommendations. I could see that it was a great place for steaks and meats. I wasn't sure what the other dishes would be like, as I don't eat meat. The rest of the dishes were wonderful and the pastas and wine selections were terrific. We had... More

The display of the aged beef in the window caught our attention as we walked by past it on the way to our hotel. We tried it....loved it so much we went back twice. The 1kg steak was very well done and on the 2nd night....we added the ravioli as well. Good prices as well and good service. Worth the... More

When god created waitress he had one vision in mind...... "Roberta"!!! What a delightful lady she was. Warm, hospitable and professional - she was the highlight of our dining experience and the reason we came back a second night. Aside from the fabulous Roberta, we loved the food, wine and ambience. Fresh pasta with the tomato sauce is a must... More

We came here twice on consecutive nights during our stay in Florence. We tried the home-made pasta, the wagyu T-bone steak and the florentine beef along with a bottle of chianti each night. The food was of very high quality and I highly recommend the peppercorn sauce if you're having a steak. A big call out to our friendly waitress... More

They do not take bookings, so have to lineup. But only 2 of us, so on a Sunday night not a too long a wait. We dined around 9pm, people were still lining up when we left around 11pm. Once seated the service was excellent. Attended by Marco. Menu was explained by Marco, who guided us with great English. If... More

Trattoria happened to be right next to the hotel we were staying in. We were looking for a great place to dine on our last night in Florence. The food was timed perfectly, which it needed to be as the portions were pretty large! We started with the bruschetta which was delicious. We've had bruschetta a few times in Italy... More

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
