The first day we arrived in Florence we happen to stumble upon this restaurant and had lunch there. The food was really good and the service was wonderful. Nico was our server and was just wonderful. I would definitely recommend this place to others and would definitely eat there again when in Florence.

After a long day of touring Florence, our 5th day in Italy, we were recommended to go to this restaurant by the concierge at our hotel. The concierge made reservations with Antonio and told us to ask for him. Antonio greeted us at the door with a smile and wonderful attitude. Our table already had house wine and water waiting... They claim they have the true bistecca alla fiorentina. And it seems they have it. Amazing! Bloody, incredibly tasteful, great size, it comes with perfectly roasted potatoes (maybe they are fried, but who cares?) We ordered the house wine, the bistecca for two and shared some melanzane (eggplant) (which, by the way, was great). The total added to 99 euros.... More

We were excited to experience this restaurant as it came highly recommended by a friend whose cousins are the owners. The friend made the reservation for us and told me we wouldn't be disappointed. We were in the neighbourhood in the afternoon so thought we'd locate the restaurant to know exactly where it was, and popped in to double-check on... More

We were really looking forward to this meal out and made a special trip in a taxi based on a recommendation by a local high-end leather merchant. It must have been a slow night. The service was terrible, even rude. The appetizer was delicious but the entree was ho-hum. Then we ordered a dessert to split but were brought a... More

Place is very close to the Dome. Great quiet street. The owner greeted us. What Food. One of the BEST places we ate while in Florence. Must try the Sea Bass. Brought to table as whole fish. Cut it up table side. WOW. I also had the white truffle pasta which was outstanding. I asked for wine and told the... More

This was our first meal in Florence, recommended by the concierge at our hotel, the waiter welcoming us was very friendly and attentive. He suggested that we share the soup dish and have a mixed grill dish. The soup - revolita was wonderful. The meats very good and we also got a side dish or salad greens, accompanying the meats.

I was walking in the piazza and just happened by this restauarant. I walked in to what has now become my favorite restaurant and the place I recommend to all of my friends when they go to Florence. It ended up being so good, I just had to go back before I went home. Feel free to look at the... More

Reccomended to me by a friend in FLorida we had a bit of difficulty in finding the restaurant tucked away on a very quiet side street. Once there we were warmly greeted by Antonio the owner who took personal care of our meal. It was the best we had in our five days in Florence. A beautiful carpacio to begin... More

My husband and I ate here on our last night in Florence. This restaurant was referred to us by a local shop owner and we are glad we found it! We both enjoyed our meals & dessert. We would recommend this restaurant in a heartbeat. We were honeymooning, so we enjoyed not being bothered by the wait staff every 5... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
