Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

So much fun. Try to make a reservation, if possible. The owner and staff are super outgoing and finish your meal (filled with great Tuscan classics at very reasonable prices) with bottles of Amara del Capo and Limoncello plunked on the table. People from all...over were in the restaurant (we were between a big table of Spaniards, two tables of Italians, and a French couple). The fried polenta was awesome, as was the pici with salame, and the roasted potatoes. Our only regret is not being able to eat more. We also wish we would have just ordered the house red (a small bottle of which is on every table, but they have larger bottles for bigger parties). Next time!More

First of all, it is astonishing that this restaurant has such a high score!!! This is my disgraceful experience. we went as a family with my 2 sons one afternoon. at the stage of ordering, the waiter did not help us and tried to give...us a lesson in courtesy as if he was forced to work. He almost forcefully took the menu from our hands while we were ordering. he tried to scold my sons for drinking water from a wine glass. when we asked for a glass again, he brought it with anger. He almost broke the glasses while putting them on the table. he didn't even answer when we asked questions about the food. I looked around and the same waiter was treating almost all the customers with the same lack of courtesy. I have never seen such a rude, ungracious and sullen waiter in any other country in Europe. It was the worst restaurant experience of my life. I didn't know if they were upset because I came with my kids or if that was their general style. if you don't like being scolded at dinner, there is no need to go. it was a nervous wreck.More

It was amazing, both food and staff. I would suggest the Tuscan wine, Ravioli with Potatoes and T-Bone. Highly suggested!

For those who want an authentic Tuscan meal, this is the place. We went for dinner on our first night in Florence and then again for lunch five days later on our last day there. We wish we had gone more often. I laughed when...I read the negative reviews. They were written by foreigners who come to Italy looking for the "non-touristy" places and for an "authentic experience." And when the style of food and service doesn't match their fantasy of a meal "under the Tuscan sun," they write negative reviews. This is NOT the Olive Garden, so don't look for chicken parm or spaghetti and meatballs on the menu. And they don't make Capaccino. If you are interested in excellent, local cooking, this is an outstanding choice. We had the sliced sirloin (which is served rare like they do it in Tuscany) with sautéed artichokes, the veal chop (which melted in yr mouth), homemade pasta with a venison sauce and the house red wine. The dishes were so good that five days later we ordered the veal chop and sliced sirloin again and the quality and consistency were identical. When we arrived for lunch at 12.30, there was already a queue of all locals waiting to get in. Thankfully, we had a reservation. During the 2 1/2 lunch, we observed a wide variety of their dishes being ordered by the locals (businesspeople, little old ladies and construction workers). Everyone left happy and the prices are very reasonable (especially for what you get). The staff is young and friendly with an energetic vibe, but it's not Downtown Abbey. If you make an effort to speak some Italian and chat with them about the menu (what concepts, right?), they will gladly engage with you. We found the service friendly and efficient, but they don't fawn over you. It's not that kind of place. The locals come here for the food and have been doing so since 1913. Also, please bear in mind that this is NOT a restaurant, but a trattoria. There is a difference. All in all, the best food and dining experience we had in Florence. Grazie!More

Make sure you book a reservation. We did so with an email from their website. We booked for 7 pm and were informed we had to be out by 9 pm for the next seating. We never felt rushed. We stayed almost until 9. Service...was fun — there was some dancing, some singing, lots of laughing, some drawing on the walls, some glasses of lemoncello poured. The florentine steak was excellent as was the antipasti plate. We had a great time. The only drawback was that Bobo (of Rick Steves fame) was not there, so we missed getting a photo with him.More

We went here for a nice meal on our final day of the Tuscan tour and were genuinely thrilled. Service was fabulous. They were funny, kind and most helpful. We ordered the steak and Ravioli with wild boar sauce to share and a bottle of...wine. This was one of the most memorable meals we had in Florence. I would say everything Florence represent on a plate!!!! The best part was the limoncello shot they serve at the end of the meal which makes you a bit merrier. I wish I can have a bit of that ravioli right now.More

Very disappointing as we expected it to be much better. Nothing about this restaurant experience was relaxing as we felt like we were being processed from start to finish. Table booked for 7 pm and told we had to leave by 9 pm and we...were out by 8.15 pm because we were hurried. Also saw a waiter drinking red wine and the food that I had was mediocre and when we came to pay they had mixed up our order with the table next door. Felt that the staff were very arrogant and that the restaurant has become a victim of its success.More

This restraint was recommended by our hotel. We wanted to go where the local dine. Had charcuterie board as an appetizer, was not salty and tasty. Next was zucchini flower parmigiano , wild boar with mushrooms pasta,we also had roast beef, last but not the...least , we had almond biscotti with sweet wine. The food, wine and the whole experience was great. Price was really reasonable . Owner kept coming around to check on all customers. Definitely would go back.More

Made a reservation based on Rick Steves recommendation and was “as advertised” - incredibly awesome! The whole experience was fun and the food was among the best had during our two weeks in Italy. The waiter was a hoot…he described his recommended appetizer (sbriciolona with...spicy fig mostarda) as “good as f**k” and it was! My wife and I then split a Tuscan steak with potatoes…best cut meat we had during our stay in Italy(and we had steak a number of times). Then after so much food our waiter brought us limoncello and another alcohol drink (he knew it was our 25th anniversary)….then on checking out another staff person gave me more shots of limoncello. Fun and memorable night and a must in beautiful Florence. And be part of the character…sign the wall!More

Great trattoria with excellent food, energetic staff and great local atmosphere. This is not somewhere for fine dining but you can get wonderful plates and almost everything tasty including a reasonable price. We ordered bruschetta, traditional meatball, ravioli with wild boar sauce, also tiramisu as...sweets and coffee as the last. The highlight is the meatball, the meat is soft and juicy combing rich but not greasy sauce which created a wonderful duet that delighted your taste buds. We will definitely come back if we visit Florence again.More

We asked our tour guide who giving us a walking tour of the city where we should have dinner at night, and without...hesitation he pointed down the street toward Antica Trattoria. This is the coolest place! If you are looking for the best Steak Florentine then this is the spot for you! The wait staff were fun, the owner will sit and explain the type of beef he chooses for this signature dish. You only get...it made one way...Rare! So, don't ask them to cook it any other way. It was amazing! Have a bottle of wine, dessert and cap it off with a little limoncello. Don't forget to sign the wall (they will give you a magic marker). Mangia!More
